Thank you for the generous award. Throughout my years at Charlotte Valley, I have worked hard for my triumphs and am very appreciative to be recognized for them. I have put commitment into my academics and extracurricular activities and by providing me this award, you are recognizing me for my contributions. I will use this to further my education and am very appreciative of it. Once again, thank…
To start off with my name is Jamey Patterson, and I am a high school senior at Callaway High School. I am writing this to thank you for the ACE Scholarship. I was awarded $672.00 for My two college courses I am taking, an online class which is Intro. to Nutrition and then the other one is Basic Nursing…
This scholarship is enabling me to continue as a senior majoring in Finance. I hope to graduate in spring 2017, after which my goal is to go to law school and obtain a LLM in International Economic Law. While I attend USF as a full time student, I also have a part-time job to help me cover some of my expenses. It’s not always easy to manage school and work,…
A self-employed business man once said, “The best example of leadership is leading by example” (Jerry McClain). He describes a true leader, a pioneer whose morals and selflessness guide her to guide others. She is an inspiration, and a beacon of hope for all to follow. I share this passion for helping and guiding by example, and as a member of the National Junior Honor Society, I would seek to better the community just as I do every day inside and outside of the classroom.…
It is with humility and profound gratitude that I accept the Class of 1982 MHSA Scholarship. I was thrilled to learn of my selection as a recipient for this honor and I am deeply appreciative of your support.…
Today I received a message in my student email about my academic progress. I was denied Financial Aid due to my poor academic performance my 2015-2016 semester at Mesa Community College. The reason for not meeting academic requirements the previous semester was because of my lack of organization with working, sports, and studying. I take full responsibility in not putting my academics before sports and work leading me to write this letter. I truly believed I could juggle working 20 hours a week as a swim instructor and also be a student-athlete for Mesa Community College while maintaining strong grades. I soon found myself struggling in classes and doing poorly on exams because I was not using my time correctly and pushing my school work to the side. In high school I worked as a swim instructor and ran cross country as I am now, I put little effort into studying and did what I had to do to get by. Those poor habits followed me into college and are now backfiring with proof through my GPA.…
I would like to immensely thank each and every one of the donors for the Marine Corps Scholarship for providing the funds for not only myself, but many others, to allow us to achieve a post-secondary education. Without their generous contributions, many of us would not be able to continue—or even began—our path to higher education. My gratitude cannot be expressed enough to the donors for allowing me to continue my college education.…
I always wanted to go to college growing up, but because of my family, along with my sisters and myself, were born and raised in a refugee camp in Nepal, I had a feeling that college was a dream that would not come true for me. In 2012, we came to Salt Lake City, Utah. The school I did was from 9th grade. After resettlement in the United States, my parents are still struggling to look after the educational future of me and my sisters. My family said if I could find a way to pay for college. I began to apply for many scholarships, which would help to fulfill my dream and desire.…
I am honoured to be among the group of Rosslyn Academy that is applicable to join and be involved in the National Honors Society. I believe that I have not only achieved the academic goals that allow me to be applicable but furthermore, I believe that I also portray the skills of a person that is determined and willing to serve the Rosslyn and Kenyan Communities. I believe that I am able to become a valuable member of the NHS, who is hard-working, constantly ready to contribute new ideas, reliable and able to create useful resolutions with others. My personal traits make me a very approachable and reliable person which helps my peers gain trust for me and respect me because I am positive, open-minded and a quick problem solver. I possess all…
Growing up, I have always had big dreams of what I was going to do when I became older. It’s hard to believe that this stage in life has already arrived, but I know that I’m prepared for it and have great expectations for what is to come. I’ve set goals out for myself and plan on achieving them, but I can’t do so without the proper education. Unfortunately, education is expensive, and my parents have laid the responsibility of paying for college on my own shoulders. I can’t reach my full potential and become the best person I can be without your help in supporting me with financial aid. That is why I exceptionally need this scholarship.…
During my first year at Florida State University I plan to grow as an individual. To achieve this is not only important to fill in your head with loads of knowledge, but also to see other cultures, meet new people, discover myself, discover my weaker and/or stronger points, and squeeze my stronger abilities at my maximum to achieve my goals. I plan to help others as much as I’ve been doing until now, or even more. I believe in creating a better atmosphere where peers help each other in whatever they need. I’ve been lucky spent almost sixteen years of my life in a school where they taught me to excel by working as a team. I plan to bring these philosophy to FSU because if instead of competing with one another, we bring what we are best at to…
Most of the external funding has come from my family graciously giving what they can. I plan to pay for the rest of my tuition by baby sitting and working my old job.…
Since the age of seven, I have known that I want to be a performer. I remember that as a child I fantasized about sold out theatres and New York City skylines. My dream of being on Broadway has always been an essential part of who I am and drives me to achieve greatness, whether it be in school, in theatre, or in my daily life. This want to be successful makes me a great candidate for National Honor Society because I have a steady track record in the key principles emphasized in membership.…
Ambition is important, but having the means to pursue my ambition is essential. A more privileged person may not comprehend the magnitude of scholarships and financial awards to secure educational success, but I do. I do not take this lightly, nor do I take it for granted. I believe that I have worked hard, but even that does not guarantee success. This scholarship will enable me to obtain my degree and begin my dream of being a professional in the medical field.…
Many students graduate from college with enormous student loan debt or limit their education in an attempt to control costs. Because scholarships are free money, students can focus on their careers instead of thinking about how they will repay loans. This allows me to go into job fields that require postgraduate training or to pursue careers in public service or other areas that don’t pay high salaries. By removing financial barriers, scholarships make education and career goals easier to obtain.…
