Persuasive Essay On Self-Driving

In the past few years, innovative carmakers have taken the initiative to develop and test self-driving or driverless vehicles in an effort to transform what was once a futuristic dream into a reality. However, this emerging technology is sparking controversy over whether society should adopt it as the standard transportation method of the modern technological age. Supporters of driverless cars cite their increased safety compared to human drivers and the other traffic-related problems that they will help alleviate. Yet others are more reluctant to adopt the new technology, pointing to the ethical issues concerning the decisions driverless cars may have to make and the potentially negative impact they may have on the economy. I believe that self-driving cars are beneficial and that society should adopt them because they increase the safety of driving and reduce the problems that human drivers cause.
First, self-driving cars improve safety because they are definitively better drivers than humans in virtually all day-to-day circumstances.
