2. If you were an HR manager of a company, what pet policy would you set and how would you implement it?
3. How would you decide the case of Elizabeth Booth, and which laws would you base your decision on? Explain. I think that it is a good idea for pets to be allowed in some work places. I believe that so long as the pets are well trained and groomed this is something to consider. His work was focused on three issues which were the property status of animals, the differences between animal rights and animal welfare, and the theory of animal rights based on sentience alone, rather than on any other characteristics. Pets at work make the work place a happy, stress free, and job satisfaction rating goes up. The pet policy I would set or approve is that employees must have the freedom to bring their pets to the office provided they would be responsible for their actions. So it is recommended that employees bring their pets but make sure that the pets would not cause trouble or affect the business. I would think that the policies stated in this article are how it should work unless it is a disability dog. Small dogs are good. Make shore that they are groomed and well mannered. If pet needs to go to the bathroom make shore it is cleaned up right away and clean up any hair left by pets. When talking about being well behaved this means does not knock things over, jump up on people or bites, does not frequently have to go to the bathroom, and in general does bark or is a nuisance. If this is a continual problem you will be asked not to bring your pet in ever again. The pet cannot be left alone at any given time while you have them at the work place. If you have to leave and someone is willing to take responsibility then the same rules apply.
I fell that she should have been allowed to bring her well trained pet to work because she had a disability. They should have been responsible to give her everything that she needed, they also knew she had a disability before they gave her the job as an accountant. The HR should have been more professional in their field and should have let her keep her job and her well trained and behave dog. Her dog was helping Mrs. Booth do her job just like everyone else but instead the made an judgment just because she had a dog who was there to help her with whatever he needed.
