The guard is the main important position on the court. The guard is the head of the offensive plays and the middle person in a defensive play. He or she is able to call which plays to use during offense, and runs the ball down the court. The guard also is the main ball handler, meaning that this person can keep the ball away from the other team with no problems. The guard is also fast on their feet and is able to switch from offense to defense in the matter of seconds. Another important factor the guard must be able to do is to sprint down the other side of the court fast enough before the other team shoots the basket. The guard must be strong enough to get through the wings on the opposing team and use the other members to help make a basket. The guard must be quick on their feet and must know how to control the ball. The guard is also a leader and leads each member of the team to its right position. These three positions make up a team in basketball. They all need each other to succeed in the game. The team would not be complete if one of the three were missing. In order for each position to succeed in their parts they all need each other to do so. I only know why these positions are so important because I played basketball since I was in elementary school and it has also been one of the main sports I loved to
