Training:Training includes any efforts within the organisation to teach, to instruct, coach, develop employees in technical skills, knowledge, principles, techniques and to provide insight into and attitudes towards organisation. Basically is training as defined as learning and broadly it is an act of increasing the knowledge and skills of an employee for doing specific job.

According to BHEL:Training is a short term education process and utilizing a systematic and organised procedure by which employees learn techniques for definite purpose. In short it refers to improving the individual’s ability for performing the job or the organisational role.

Development:It is a related process. It covers not only those activities which improve job performance, but also those, which bring about growth of the personality. It helps not only good employees, but also better human beings.
