The Center for Disease Control and Prevention says (CDC) “In America about 40,000 cases of Salmonella are reported every year”. When you hear salmonella you only think salmonella but you really don't understand what it is. “Salmonella is a bacterium that occurs in the intestines, that causes food poisoning”. When contracting the virus there are common symptoms you attract. Christian Nordavist says when infected with Salmonella it causes “typhoid fever, gastroenteritis, enteric fever and other illnesses”. When you see these words you think of the worse possible things to happen, but most of these symptoms are the most common people experience all the time. salmonella is caused by consuming contaminated water, or food like meat, poultry, or …show more content…
In America the restaurant industry spends a lot of money on food served in the restaurants. Chapman, Benjamin says for all the money spent on food 47% the money comes from restaurant owners (1101-1107). With there being a large supplement of restaurants in America it supplies jobs to people who need them. In America the restaurant business provide 19% of the jobs in the nation (Chapman, 1101). A study done by the world health organization was done in Canada on cracked egg shells and all the disease it could contract from being cracked. The only disease that was hazards to human was salmonella so they used this to continue their analysis .100). While salmonella is hazards to cracked eggs it can also penetrate shells that are still in intact (100). Without the virus of salmonella touching the yoke of the egg the virus would not grow (100). When the egg that were examined in Canada 1.3% and 6.3% of the eggs were cracked (100). This fiasco can’t all be blamed on farming because big food productions like Tyson and producer are owners of theses
