Self-awareness is having a clear perception of your personality – physical, mental, emotional, behavioral, and spiritual aspects. This includes your strengths, weaknesses, thoughts, beliefs, knowledge, experience, skills, emotions, behaviors, attitudes, feelings, motivations, and views.
Self-awareness allows you to understand yourself more, how other people perceive you, and how you relate and respond to them. Such knowledge enables you to make changes in your personality that can improve the direction in your life and lead you to success in your studies, career, relationships, and other activities.
Self awareness is developed through practice in focusing your attention on the details of your personality and behavior.
The Johari Window

It was devised by American psychologists, Joseph Luft and Harry Ingham in 1955 while they were researching group dynamics at the University of California.
