Growing up without my parents watching over me, I had to learn things on my own. I recall using books to fill in the gap; this established a solid vocabulary. The books that I read were not intended for my age group, I just read for fun! This knowledge that I grasped from books translated into my everyday vernacular. Even my teachers took notice of my elevated vocabulary and would refer me to even more books to read. Books allowed me to convert my thoughts into words, they helped me get through life, and taught me the importance of words.

that have little to no meaning. Words have cultivated my reputation, gave me opportunities, even allowed me to write this application. I know this interest in words may seem miniscule, but words have encapsulated my whole life. Communication is my talent and influenced me to pursue a career that highlighted my skills.
When I was a kid I would use the art of persuasion in order to get what I want; whether through words or through my actions.
One of my chores as a kid was to vacuum the entire house. Our vacuum was old and heavy, and I thought it was about time for new one. In order to change the situation for the better, I watched Shark Vacuum Infomercials every Saturday (staying up late at night) in order to convince my parents to buy a new vacuum cleaner. I had to watch these boring infomercials for weeks until I was able to get my parents on board. And it didn't help that I wasn't only allowed to watch T.V. Monday through Friday, but this was a sacrifice I had to make. Using my words wisely I often had to reiterate that the price of a Shark Vacuum was three easy payments of $39.95 plus shipping and handling. Due to my persistence, my parents purchased the Shark Vacuum and chores didn't seem like a chore anymore. But I also took note how words can comfort someone during a
tragedy.
Due to my career of interest being in law I cannot wait to exercise my talent in the courtroom. Advocating for those in need is my duty. In this career I am able to integrate my passions into a job, a job that I can benefit other people's standards of living. Instead of being referred to as a lawyer I prefer to be called a storyteller. After all I am telling my clients story on their behalf; using my voice to illustrate their circumstances.
On this journey called life I not only found my passion, but I found a career where I am able to integrate my passion into my work. Along with picking up some good books I have equipped myself with an arsenal of vocabulary to tackle the world.
