Most college athletes are working so hard they are putting their mental and physical health in danger. They put their bodies on the line every game but, should they get paid? Many of them are already receiving scholarships. But only about two percent of high school athletes receive scholarships. They are already receiving and education. So why would they pay the colleges and the colleges pretty much pay them right back if they pay them.
If college athletes get paid it could potentially take away from the purity of the game. Some of the college athletes aren’t as smart so somebody could bribe them to potentially throw a game. And if they get paid they might not play a hard as they could because they might not want to get hurt or injured. Also because they are getting paid. Football is the biggest sport in the US and colleges make a lot of money off of the games. But some like say tennis or track don't make nearly as much money as other spots such as football. College athletes could get spoiled from getting paid and just give up on the game. If college athletes did get paid I could give them a sense of financial awareness and help get ready for the rest of their life.
