Spare Parts Book Report
The book, Spare Parts, is a great read. I know many people will say the book would not be their first choice, but for me, I loved this book. I like this book because it shows the life of real people facing real situations. In the book, it showed a story of real-life people, and that is what made the book good. There are many reasons why Spare Parts is a good read.
My first reason is that it was based on a true story. The fact that these boys accomplished so much in real life is amazing. I love reading books that are based on a true story because the characters are real people, and these tasks were real events. My second reason is that the book makes you think about what other people go through. For me, living in Garner, Iowa, there is not a lot of diversification. Everybody knows everybody. But when someone goes into a big city, the diversification is much bigger. Also, people living in Iowa do not see as much deportation than some other states. Lastly, my third reason why this book was such a great read is that the book was inspiring. The reason why this book is inspiring is that I got to know the characters. I thought it was inspiring because they were low-income boys that

One change that was quite obvious was when there was only one teacher for the robotics club in the movie. In the book, there were two male teachers. The only other teacher in the movie was a female. Also, another change in the movie was when Lorenzo and his dad hugged. In the book, Lorenzo was saying that the hug would never happen in real-life. Lastly, the book was better because I was able to think about situations that I am not exposed to. When I read the book, I learned that people actually hunted people that were in the United State illegally. While living in Garner, Iowa, I never knew that happened. These are the reasons why I loved the book more than the

I find the book’s ending much more intriguing. In my opinion, the book is better and much more interesting than the movie. In the movie, they left out a lot of scenes. They left out the scene where Freak had his birthday party and had a seizure. They also left out the scene where Freak got the police, and Max was in the burnt house…

The settings I imagined while reading the book were very different from what I saw in the movie. Some of the characters such as Kenny and Byron were shorter than I imagined, but Joetta was taller than I imagined her and Grandma Sands looked very different than I imagined. I thought she would be tiny, really old looking, and very mean. She wasn’t really any of those. The settings were very different such as the church and the Watsons house. I thought they would be more dated. Their house wasn’t modern, but wasn’t as old as I imagined from the context clues in the book. Overall I liked the movie better because it had more information about racism and I felt I learned more about it. I think I would like the movie even better if it had Rufus as a character, but it was still a great…

Like many other immigrants in the U.S. at the time they were taken advantage of because of their lack of education and understanding of the English language, and their desperate need of money. In addition to working in harsh conditions, they experienced death in the family, rape, and eviction. It almost seemed too much for one person/family to go through but the main point of the book was to expose capitalism at its worst. Depicting the worst of the worst was what made such a big impact on people because they could “see it” instead of just reading it.…

I like how its really intense and calming and also some parts funny. I like how it talks about teen pregnancy because some young teens will want to get pregnant at such a young age and if they read this book it may help them change their mind and wait till they get older, thats very important to me. I really like the chapter where Bobby was talking about the wall when he was trying to get everything back in place and try to see who he really was, i thought that part was really good. I like how it goes back and fourth for the chapters like then and now, it makes you want to read more because in one chapter it tells you really good information and you just want to read even more till the…

Some actors acted and appeared entirely different in the movie than the book. The directing and special effects were okay in some scenes, but half-baked and lousy in others. Furthermore, the characters are developed far less in the film and many semi-important scenes in the novel are excluded in the film. Do not watch this movie unless you have read the novel (or even if you have read it). If you haven’t read the book and decide to watch the movie instead, you will fail to understand the complicated relationships between each character and between the Socs and Greasers and just think the movie is substandard and all aspects of the movie lacked in action, emotion, or just seemed like they were not well thought out. A 3.5/10 may seem harsh, but I was not pleased. Just go read the book instead. It had the potential to be a great film, but severely missed the…

I liked the book better than the movie because the book had more details. The movie made Mark and Bryon seem like punks. They didn’t regret any of their actions most the time. The book showed how they really felt and made them more relatable to the reader. The book made it easier to understand why they were doing what they did. Their characters were more open and enjoyable in the book. The movie made the boys all seem like jerks and the girls seem dainty or bratty. I like the book because the time period they were in. The 80s theme was great but the 60s was better for the story. The movie was good but it just didn’t do justice to the book. I love the fact that the book has the greasers and Socs. The movie didn’t really have any of the greasers in it besides Angela’s brothers. I don’t like the fact the movie didn’t have those or the hippies in it. They were an important part of the storyline. The book was just more enjoyable than the movie for…

I personally think that the movie was much more fun to watch, but the book was better over-all. some of the reasons I did not like the movie are Brinker, and the way he seemed much more nice. I also did not like how Gene did not go to Leper’s house and how Leper came back to the school. Another thing I did not enjoy in the movie is how Brinker did not enlist with Gene as he did in the book.…

I personally enjoyed reading this book for many reasons. Charlie, the main character writes from his point of view how he feels and it’s extremely entertaining. The book is also realistic so I feel like I can relate to events and experiences that happened to the characters. Charlie’s experiences constantly make me think about what I would do if I were him and how I would react to things he went through if he were my friend. In his letters to the readers, he is talking to me, so you really develop a liking for the character you’re reading with/about.…
