Strengthfinder Assessment
This paper will discuss my talents and strengths from taking the StrengthFinder assessment and the top five themes include input, learner, positivity, intellection, and communication. In addition, this paper will answer questions related to how the five themes operate in my professional and person life and he implications in social work practice. Furthermore, answers will be provided for the 10 Ideas for Action for each of the five themes listed and a strengths-based development plan that will help me to use my talents, skills, knowledge, and experience.

The things listed above are things that stand out because I do aim to succeed and to reach my goals and going to college has been a lifetime goal that I have reached and succeeded in doing even with all the challenges and obstacles that have been put in my way. In addition, reading and writing and always learning is something that is ongoing and even though I am in college I still take free online courses to continue learning about new topics and subjects that interest me. Furthermore, detecting nuances in data and information that people generally overlook can be a benefit in many ways because when looking at social policies finding issues with the policies can bring about advocating for others and fixing things that may not work and bringing that information to the attention of others is an …show more content…

    Although diagnosis is important, when social workers focus only on deficits or diagnosis, they may fail to also look at strengths and resources. Cowger Matrix Framework for Assessment was developed in an attempt to avoid focus on only deficits and more on the needs and strengths of individual clients (Hepworth et al, 2013). Cowger Matrix of Framework has four sections; strengths or resources and deficits, challenges or obstacles which are on a vertical axis and environmental factors (family and community) and individual or personal factors which are on a horizontal axis.
