Summary Of Ender's Game By Orson Scott Card
In Ender’s Game, written by Orson Scott Card, the main character, Ender Wiggin eventually becomes the hero of the human race. The story starts with Ender, a third child, living with his sister Valentine and his brother Peter. Ender constantly lives in fear with his brother because he is not only rough on Ender, but borderline abusive. Valentine, on the other hand, is filled with kindness and cares for Ender. One day, a man who belongs to the “ International Fleet” comes to his house and asks to see Ender. Ender was chosen to be part of the I.F not only because he was a third child(which meant he belonged to the I.F. already) but because of how he acted in certain situations. Ender agrees to go with the I.F into battle school. As Ender
starts his new life in the Battle School, he meets lots of new people. Some of those people are good, and some are not so good. Ender, with time, rises up in the battle school gaining both respect among his peers and being named the most efficient soldier in the school. Ender eventually is called to be one of the commanders of the school. This meant that in the “games”, he would organize all of the strategies of battle and command his team members. Ender’s life after he became a commander was described as; when he was awake he was fighting in the “game”, and when he wasn't playing the “game” he was sleeping. Ender was getting tired of the constant stimulation. One day, the Battle School leader tells Ender that his next upcoming battle will be his last battle. The battle was incredibly unfair as Ender was outnumbered, but Ender was persistent and patient and won the battle. After the battle, the school leader tells him that he has actually not been playing a game but fighting the enemy aliens the entire time. Ender is very distraught by this, as he killed off an entire race without his knowing, and when he finds the last alien pupa, he makes it his mission to find a new home for the aliens to live on.
