Summary: The Parable Of The Unforgiving Servant
The Parable of the Unforgiving Servant Bethany and Paige were good friends; they weren't best friends, but they were close enough to call each other friends. In certain classes, when neither of them had any closer friends, they would talk to each other and help each other out with homework and what not. English class, was indeed, one of those classes. The teacher had just gotten done discussing the current book they were reading, Mythology, and she had just assigned four vocabulary pages that were due the next class period. The teacher said that the class could work on the pages since they had about fifteen more minutes left of class. She also included that they could work in partners. Bethany and Paige decided to work together. They did their own work, but while working they'd exchange conversation every now and then. When they were both done, Bethany went back and made sure that she had written down all the correct answers. While searching she found that she had skipped an entire page. Since Paige was already done, she decided it would be of no harm to ask her for the answers. Paige obliged, and she handed her vocabulary book to Bethany who thanked her and quickly copied them all down. The next day was a C day, so both Bethany and Paige had science again. 32 “Well its actually happening ma’, I’m goin’ back to school.”Rufus said. “I want you to know, I truly am proud of you Rufus.” His mother replied. Curtis and Janet went to a different school then Rufus but he still walked them to school then walked himself to school. On his way to school a car followed him very slowly but Rufus kept walking. When he got to school it looked the same on the outside that it always had. Rufus pushed open the doors at Searingtown School and yelled “I’m back!” All of his friends ran over to hug him. He went down to the office to get a tour he thought he didn’t need because he remembered every single solitary thing about this place. While the tour was going on everything going on was a blur. He looked left, right and left again, admiring the changes the school had made. “Wow” he sighed. “Is there a problem Rufus?” the tour guide asked. Rufus answered, “When I was here the wall paint was all chipped, there were broken windows and holes in the walls.” “Oh ok, well that concludes our tour and this door on your right is your first period class.” The tour guide replied. Rufus walked in and sat at an available seat at the back of the class room. He opened his notebook and took notes even though he didn’t understand anything that was going on. By the time 5th period came around it was time for lunch he was starving. All of his friends called him over and asked him to sit with him. Momma didn’t make him a big lunch because they didn’t have that much food in the house and then needed to split it 3 different ways. Allison who used to have a big crush on Rufus sat right next to him. Mitchell and Charlie sat across from him and Christina, Alisha and Sammy sat around them. But he didn’t have a car? Rufus ran to the office to explain the…

The film Unforgiven tells the tale of a former killer who embarks on a journey in order to kill two criminals and later confronts a law driven sheriff who controls a town with brute force. Towards the end of the film the protagonist confronts the main villain and kills him. Before dying the man complains that he did not deserve to die the way he did and in response the protagonist replies that “Deserves got nothing to do with it”. This line has left a legacy in cinema and it closely relates to the novel Mercy Among the Children. The main character Sydney, is constantly rejected and hated by the society that he lives in, but he has a different approach as to how to handle these tough situations. Sydney constantly refuses to fight back against those that oppose him. Citizens within the society continually mock and fight Sydney, but he chooses to hold back because he believes that the people who are against him will be judged by a higher power and will face judgment later on. Sydney does his best to help the people in his town and his family. While many characters look for reward, respect and money. Sydney is fine with what he has; he does not feel the need to obtain more and does not try to obtain respect, money or reward using brute force. Sydney shows desire to end conflict whether or not he started it, all he wants is a peaceful relationship amongst others.…

Forgiveness is a necessary part of human existence, although it is rarely easy to give, and sometimes hardest to give to ourselves. The Kite Runner illustrates humanity's tendency, and even willingness, to dwell on past mistakes. The opening sentence sets this theme with "I became what I am today at the age of twelve," as Amir unapologetically relates how he believes one action at that young age defined his entire life. However, as the novel progresses, the reader comes to the conclusion that it was not one action, but a series of choices and events that created Amir's persona as an adult. By holding onto his guilt and fear of discovery, Amir could only bury his past for short periods of time before his own conscience uncovered it and the emotional baggage attached. Throughout the course of Amir's life, he made choices based on jealousy, fear, and guilt, and thus allowed his life to be immersed in regret and shame until he finally allowed himself redemption.…

On Scout’s first day of school her teacher, Miss Caroline Fisher, wasn’t too pleased with the fact that Scout could read. Scout narrates, “...and after making me read most of My First Reader and the stock-market quotations from The Mobile Register aloud, she discovered that I was literate and looked at me with more than faint distaste. Miss Caroline told me to tell my father not to teach me anymore, it would interfere with my reading.” Miss Caroline doesn’t like Scout knowing how to read already because she says, “It’s best to begin reading with a fresh mind.” She thinks Scout has been taught the wrong way because it wasn’t following the school’s way. Miss Caroline later catches Scout writing a letter to Dill. She told her, again, to tell her father to stop teaching her, Miss Caroline says, “We don’t write in the first grade, we print. You won’t learn to write until you’re in the third grade.” Scout blames Calpurnia for this because writing kept her…
