The play is attempting to show the lifestyle of the mental disabled people. It also shows that in spite of their disability, they have an honest heart and personality. It also had some comedy to make the play more interesting.
Different designers of scenery, stage costume, lighting and sound put an effort to accomplish the attempt. The scenery designer’s objective of setting tone and style of the production was shown by creating a set which looked like an apartment. The apartment had a living room attached to kitchen. It had four door, one entrance door, two bedroom doors and one bathroom door. There were two sofas and one table. The set of the play was simple and it represented a simple apartment where four mental disabled boys lived. For instance, the characters costume looked like 1980s; however, their supervisor had modern costume to distinguish between these individual characters. One character, named Norman, had the security guard costume on in most of the scene, which would represent his occupation. Their costume would also show their personality (mentally disabled) because they could not differentiate between 1980s and modern outfits. It also met the needs of individual characters to move easily and change outfit from one scene to another.
