The Death Of Keeneka Jenkins
A few days ago I became aware of Keeneka Jenkins and her story. It has been on my mind every minute and every hour since then. I have not been able to discuss the tragic event with anyone or share my thoughts on it, so that is why I am dedicating this journal to her and her peculiar death. Keeneka Jenkins was a beautiful woman born and raised in Illinois, Chicago. She was the daughter of Teresa Martin who raised her since birth. Her birth date is undetermined. And sadly, she was only able to live nineteen years of life. On September 17, 2017, Jenkins was found dead inside of a walk in freezer at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois. When one of the staff members at the hotel came across her body the following morning, he or she immediately …show more content…
When in reality, she was sneaking off to a hotel party. She left her house around eleven thirty at night on September 16th and was never seen alive by her family again. She arrived to the said hotel shortly after leaving home with the said group of friends. After spending time at the party she stumbled her way out of the room. Witnesses said they did see her at the party on the ninth floor, but no one saw her disappear. After finding her frozen body several hours later, authorities checked the hotel cameras for answers, which were also released to the public. In the video you can clearly see Jenkins alone, stumbling out of the elevator, walking through hallways, falling over the staircases, and ending up in the hotel kitchen. There were several security cameras in the kitchen, but ironically, the hotel said they did not have a camera near or facing the …show more content…
Multiple pictures were released to the public after her death. Her white bralette that she was wearing was raised over her breasts. Her pants were lowered from her waist maybe three to four inches showing her rear. One of her shoes was actually across from her in the freezer as if someone threw it there. I believe an actual person was involved in her death. Because if she did get inside the freezer and was trapped or placed there, why would her clothes be lowered as if there was some type of assault? And why would one shoe be on her and the other be strewn across the fridge floor? I personally do not think she would walk inside, make her clothing revealing, throw her shoe, and then sit and slowly freeze to death. Fifth, when her body was inspected there were traces of black trash bag underneath her fingernails. Shortly after the time of her estimated disappearance, an employee was shown on tape in the kitchen with a cleaning cart. In fact, there was a huge black trash bag spread across his cart. What if one of the sick employees lured her into the empty kitchen and tried to suffocate her with the trash bag? In an act of defense, what if she pulled at the bag and got traces of it under her nails? And when the employee realized it wasn’t working maybe he physically assaulted her then trapped/placed her into the freezer? That would prove her clothing, the black plastic under her nails, and the possibly tampered with cameras. And if

In essence, the plot is unveiled through a non-participant, selective omniscient point of view to convey the message a person sends moments from death.…
