The Hardest Time When I Came To America
The most difficult time is the period when I came to America. I was born in China and lived there for 20 years. The new environment for me was unfamiliar and challengeable. My English was poor and hard to understand, so that I was afraid to speak English to people. But if I want to stay here, I must solve this problem. Therefore, I went to the adult school to improve my oral English. During the idle time, I watched the CNN student news to broaden my horizon and to know more about America. Nowadays, my English has improved a lot, although I know that’s not enough. I still have a long way to go to achieve the standard that speak fluently. In addition, I also had a challenge in learning how to drive. Everyone knows that car is essential for our lives. …show more content…
Even going to college needs driving, so that I needed to learn driving as soon as possible. But I never touched a car steer before, and I was so afraid to drive a car on a road, because I thought I would make mistakes and cause something bad happen. I knew that escape is no a solution to anything, so I encouraged myself every time. At last, I passed the driving test one time. These two challenges teach me a lot. Coming to America means that I need to learn everything again, but it also lets me know that life is always full of challenges. Challenges can make me become more optimistic and determined, because I know I will succeed if I try hard. As for the community service, I do want to have a try. But I still feel unfamiliar with how to find a volunteer job. I will try in the future if I know

I have always been studying while working in two or more part time jobs, I always cursed my situation for why I had to live this hard.     First was the food. It was hard to get used to the food because everything tasted too salty.
