Normally, superheroes use their powers to counter day-to-day crime while also combating threats against humanity by super villains, their criminal counterparts. They perform services that they believe benefit the community in a variety of ways. Some real-life superheroes hand out supplies to the homeless, while others seek to combat crime through community patrols and neighbourhood watch in which suspicious activity is identified and reported to the proper authorities. They fight for human rights, world peace and discrimination; like Mother Theresa, Martin Luther King Jr. Others may have accomplished something for humanity like: Pierre and Marie Curry, Neil Armstrong. In mythology and legend, a hero is a man, often of divine ancestry, who is endowed with great courage and strength, celebrated for his bold exploits, and favoured by the gods. In addition, the main characteristics of a hero are: Honesty, high values, courageous, hopeful, adventurous, brave, trustworthy, motivated,
