There isn’t one major thing I’ve done to make a difference, but I have done many small things that have contributed positively to my community. Throughout late middle school and all of high school I have participated in an organization called the National Honor Society. One of the four important criteria of being a member is to serve others. Every year each member of the club has to find at least one way to volunteer in the community.

While helping there only takes a few hours, the work is just a little bit tiring, especially after a long day.
Recently after a long day of school, piano lessons, and working out, I raced to Manna. While I was pretty exhausted myself, I was able to dedicate just a few hours of my time to make others lives better.
As I scanned the aisles for the items on the lists, I was able to really appreciate how thankful I am for my life. While many things seem to go wrong, those minor details really aren’t that big of a deal. There is always someone that has is worse. While I am worrying about attending college, or taking a test, I should refocus my thoughts, and just be thankful that I have the opportunity to get an education, as well as come home to a roof over my head and food to eat. I am grateful that such a simple activity was able to teach me a lesson while I was helping others. Volunteering makes not only a difference for others, but also in my
