To What Extent Can You Exhibit Leadership Without Being In Official Leadership Position
How can you exhibit leadership without being in an official leadership position?

As a student athlete, I can exhibit leadership without being in a official leadership position by setting a good example to my teammates and being encouraging and supportive in tough situations. But not only can I be an example to my team, I can be an example to anyone who watches my on and off the court. I can keep a good attitude through trials and continue to push myself to do better through win or loss. Being a leader not only means that you push yourself, it means that you inspire others to do the same. So if I can use my talents and strengths to do what is good and what is right I can help and lead others to do what is right and good in their eyes and in the community.

Some good choices I could make would be to choose not to drink alcohol underage, or to do drugs. Lots of people struggle with those particular things and I feel like if those who struggle see someone thriving, they will want to be like the person who thrives and will do whatever they can to lead a similar lifestyle. There are many definitions of leadership. The Collins English dictionary defines leadership as “the leader(s) of a party or group.” Yet true leadership is much more than that. A leader can be the chief executive officer of an organization, or a first year employee who leads his or her team to success behind the scenes. A leader might lead through official authority and power, yet just as often great leaders lead through inspiration, persuasion and personal connections. Teaching others to be a leader is a daunting task within itself (Pankaew, 2013).…

To me, leadership is leading by example. My years in high school have shown me that the person who builds people up, and shows kindness is more of a leader than someone who commands and controls people. I strive to be this kind, caring person who others can look up to. As I grow older, I hope that by doing the right things, I can inspire others to do the same.…

A leader is a person who represents the whole class and motivate them. I did not believe I was a leader. During my freshman and sophomore year of high school, I was a quiet spoken individual who listens to what others have to say. It was not that I did not have anything to say, but it was the fear of saying something wrong and others disregarding what I had to say. I did several presentations in high school that made speaking in front of people more easier. However, I was still the timid person who wanted desperately to break my shell but did not know how. A shocking moment had occurred when I had became secretary of Zonta Club. It was junior year and I was surprised to have been part of the leadership team. I was able to discuss my ideas and to speak with the members at ease. It was my breaking point. I was given a privilege to be part of something that made a change. I was not just the soft spoken person, but I was a leader…
