Toyota Prius Advertisement Analysis
World is gradually becoming fuel efficient, in this case, we have an advertisement presenting this automobile, the Toyota Prius, the first hybrid car ever produced at large scale and the one with the record in selling units from 1998, when it was first produced, until now. The effect this publicity tries to achieve is the image of a murderer leaving a body by the shore of a river or a lake but this man despite he is having a wrong attitude, “at least he drives a Prius” is to say that at least he has a environmentally friendly vehicle so he does not have to feel so bad for the murder. From one hand, this image conveys a metaphor where the murder is the attitude men are taking about the earth environment, destroy without control, careless for …show more content…
This advertisement would be taken as a parody, because the Prius performance aspects are weak, is not the indicate car to say, “Well, at least he drives a powerful car” because is not a good automobile in terms of power. This car for people who like performance and high speeds or horse power to burnout their tires or race a drag race, is a shame to have one of those, they have cars as a Chevy corvette with about 500 horsepower and they would not like to drive a 99 horsepower Prius. These people simply care about their satisfaction and happiness and leave the environment aside, they live their life thinking that one simple 5.0l car would not affect the environment but if there were thousands of those cars, then we would have a problem. Also, they believe that others should start first the matter of pollution, should begin being controlled from the big factories that produce huge amounts of pollution. Thinking that the amount of pollution that a person can contribute does not change the world is a extremely narrow-minded opinion, everyone should pay attention to the environment, at last this is our gigantic home, as we keep clean our living-room and we like to have our things in good condition, the world is our property so everyone have to contribute to this “care of the world” is the duty of all the

    4WD's have been a major issue in the media recently and freelance writer and researcher on issues relating to public safety, Melanie Masters, has expressed her point of view on this issue and how it can be a hazzid to all on the road and a creation thats should be taken off the roads. The article express very heavy dominating language which is expressed in the opening sentence of the article which sets the mood of the piece and the writter, the tone shown when she says'death monsters'in the opening sentence instantly just shows her view of the issue. Electric cars have been around since roughly the 1890s, and in fact they were the dominant motorized vehicle in the market until about 1929 [1, p. 17].
