As they belong to two separate and diverse political parties, the differences between the two candidates seems obvious. However, their contrasting nature goes beyond political allegiance. For starters, the qualifications accumulated by each candidate vastly differ. In comparison to shrewd venture-capitalist Trump, Clinton’s experience in Washington remains unparalleled as she served not only as the the first lady to President Bill Clinton but …show more content…
also as a Senator and as the Secretary of State under Barack Obama. While Hillary Clinton checked her emails from our nation's capitol, Trump built a business and reality show empire. His vast portfolio of investments and startups includes his real estate empire and smaller ventures such as Trump Steak. The backgrounds of these candidates remain a crucial difference in the election as some question the legitimacy of Trump’s ability as he has yet to hold a government position. Likewise, the campaign strategies of the forerunners differ greatly. Thus far, Donald Trump has relied on dramatic and deeming sound bites to gain free media attention in order to win debates and influence voters. His over-the-top personality and use of attacking opponents enabled him to annihilate his opponents within his party, as they find difficulty competing with his personality. Clinton’s personna, on the other hand, of an educated, strong-willed, and compassionate woman immensely contrasts that of Trump. Likewise, the political ideologies of both greatly differ regarding individual rights, domestic issues and economic issues. For example, Clinton’s support of citizenship for illegal aliens differs slightly from Trump’s proposal of building a wall to protect against illegal immigration. The overall differences between the petite, calculating Democrat and the orange, barbaric Republican remain vast as America attempts to choose between the contrasting individuals to serve as our next president.
While the two candidates seem exponentially different, the long time New York residents share commonalities.
Even though their political ideologies differ greatly, they both have one goal in mind: to become president. Both Clinton and Trump demonstrate a strong desire for the title of presidency, pushing the boundaries on their campaigns and resorting to extreme measures to grasp the nomination. However, both face immense opposition not only from each other but also from the toughest opponent of all: the American people. As people are looking to elect a future president, many find themselves abandoning their desired political parties in avoidance of their party's candidate. The immense hate for these presidential hopefuls remains one of the few commonalities shared between the candidates as they fight an uphill battle, attempting to convince the American people they are the lesser of two evils.
As election day nears in America, the two forerunners in the election emerge as contrasting individuals with seemingly no similarities. However, the will and desire of both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton remains, as each fights for the nomination and the title of President of the United States of
America.
