Vengeance Fray From The Mortal Instruments Series By Cassandra Clare
Clary Fray My character is Clary Fray from the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. Clarys Archetype is very much that of the innocent, she has no knowledge of the world she's woken up in and doing her best with the cards she’s dealt. She is first is cast into this world when her mother is kidnapped by demons. she then goes to find her mother and she fights a demon on her own with no weapons and kills it. after killing the demon, while in the fight, she is bitten by the demon and almost dies. she finds out she’s a shadowhunter because she is then marked with runes that would kill a “normal human.” she then discovers that her memories were stolen from her by a warlock and can not be replaced or undone. her best friend is turned into …show more content…
the gesture is a wide stance legs and she has her arms in a sort of opening and closing movement mixed with a lot of pushing and pulling. I think this movement best represents clarys internal and outer struggle trying to cope with so many rapid changes in her life, but finding the strength from within to move on and find her mother. When I am doing this gesture I can sort of access the internal conflict she must be feeling, and I can use my own personal experience with rapid changes in my own life in a short amount of time and use that relationship to connect better with Clary’s struggles. Clary is a heart centered person, she doesn't think about any consequences or outcomes, she kind of just feels the emotion of the situation and aims, for example, when her best friend Simon was kidnapped by Vampires, she did what any sane friend would do, she broke into the vampire lair armed with only a dagger to save him. I personally believe that clary is a flick, she’s very quick and light always moving, and in her new environment she has to be. There are many instances throughout the book that we see her indirectness like when trying to keep all the relationships in her life the exact same even though her best friend is in love with her. In this instance we see a very indecisive love triangle forming in her life. Clary is caught between two men and can not decide between either of them, and luckily does not have to because one

In Unbroken, Laura Hillenbrand argues that the allied servicemen and prisoners of war in World War II contributed immeasurable sacrifices for humanity. Hillenbrand’s biography about Louie Zamperini provides an authentic portrayal of a soldier and prisoner of war (POW) during World War II. The New York Times bestseller novel focuses on the importance in family bonds and friendship throughout the struggle. Likewise, optimism and hope serve as vital coping mechanisms in warfare circumstances. Hillenbrand explores the effects of physical and mental conditioning for self improvement and during times of inhuman cruelty. The author elaborates on PTSD and life after the war for Zamperini until he finds absolution. Overall, Unbroken is an empowering informational text, telling Louie’s story against the major world events of the twentieth century.…

In 2010, Laura Hillenbrand released a brilliant tribute to a resilient national hero, Louis “Louie” Zamperini, whose story was not widely known at the time. Fast forward four years and this tribute, Unbroken, has been made into a major motion picture and the remarkable story of the Olympian-turned-soldier has reached the masses. In the book Unbroken, which I read shortly after it was released, Hillenbrand chronicles Zamperini’s epic and, at times, terrifying odyssey. Raised in California, he was the son of Italian immigrants.…

Due to our nature, the human race will do astonishing things in the name of love and fear. Abigail Williams in “The Crucible” is a fantastic example of this. Not only are her actions absurd to try and gain John Proctor’s whole hearted affection, who was her lover, but also to gain submission of an ample portion of Salem due to fear. A large part of the submissiveness was gained by her ability to manipulate others, especially those she knows well. She starts the fire of hatred, for witches and the townspeople, within Salem. The fuel was already there; all that was needed was the last spark to get the flame going. Abigail was this spark, created by her insatiable lust for John Proctor. She instigated the witch trials, and used the produced hysteria in an attempt at personal gain, using a step by step plan. This plan developed through the play, feeding Abigail’s ambition and power.…

The Treaty of Versailles was one of the most popular peace treaties that ended World War I. At the end of the war, the Allied Powers defeated Germany, demanding Germany sign to the harsh conditions of the treaty. The United States also isolated themselves from all European and Asian conflicts. Both the harsh treaty conditions and the policy of isolation by the United States led to the rise of Hitler and the beginning of World War II.…
