In this assignment I will be explaining the importance and what benefit there are in the Public services. I will then go on to give examples of different volunteering that is available and what I would benefit from choosing one thing to do.
P1, P2
Volunteering is an essential part of the public services it helps them reduces their costs and save time on training. If you apply to be a special in the Police you will undergo short cost effective training unlike the training for a regular officer. Joining as a special constable helps the police put the money they save into things that are more important like resources, etc. volunteering can help you a lot and help you gain many skills. It can help you discover things you didn’t know about yourself, it could possibly help to choose your future career. This can help you do this because in some volunteering you are taken out of your comfort zones and thrown straight into difficult tasks. You also get to work with a variety of different people from varied backgrounds. Volunteering is also about having the ability to work on your own and make decisions without any assistance when problems arise. You have to have very good time management when you are volunteering. A main positive that comes from volunteering in that is can lead to a qualification and all volunteering looks good on your CV to an employer.
P3
There are many opportunities to volunteer in the UK and many you can choose from, from volunteering at youth clubs and elderly care homes to volunteering in prisons and courts. All these opportunities offer great skills to gain and further your work experience. If I had to choose something to volunteer for I would volunteer with the Red Cross as they do a variety of things to help the British society and communities all over the world. They help families find they’re missing children, they help countries prepare for disasters, they also help with the aftermath of the disaster offer
