Wellness Profile Essay
As a future police officer it’s very important to be healthy and active during our daily lives, on and off duty. By creating an effective Wellness profile and following those few steps everyday to make sure that we prevent any future illnesses or disease as well as living a long healthy life. Starting with healthy living, briefly explaining what it means, “the practice of health-enhancing behaviours; the physical, mental and spiritual capacity to make healthy choices including healthy eating and physical activity and an understanding of their relationship to maintaining a healthy weight”. (Wagner Wisotzki, 2013), by going on regular check ups, refraining from smoking or drinking and getting involved with physical activities no matter …show more content…
As an officer this helps me when I’m involved in an altercation or in a situation where I have to chase somebody. The second one is performance/skill-related fitness is being able to perform the complex muscle-and-nerve act this includes the agility, speed, and reaction time and coordination. By exercising regularly I can develop good motor skills and being an officer I need these skills in order to do my job well, being able to respond with my reaction time is an important part of my job which might and might not include me losing my life or someone …show more content…
Another important factor is following the seven dimensions of health which include, physical health, I will be achieving this dimension by doing regular checkups, making sure I eat healthy and exercise regularly as well as eating healthier avoiding fast food, for my emotional and psychological health, I will be working on my self-confidence and trying to deal with my day to day stress as it rises with my school and personal problems and being able to handle situations such as ones that cause me emotional or psychological
