How can we make America great again? It is not hard, really. We have an opportunity to make a country that future generations will thank us for. We just need to rely slightly more on patriotism, working together, and our responsibilities as a citizen of this great country. Some of the responsibilities of an American citizen include paying taxes, casting votes, and obeying laws. Taxes put on the American public are found from everywhere. They come out of a paycheck, we pay them when we buy a bag of chips, we even write the community a check for the taxes we owe. Taxes are an important part of how the government is run. The taxes we pay go towards different funds, such as welfare, education, or highways. Taxes may not be fun to pay, but they pay the government paid officials and pay for the roads we drive on. Taxes run the communities we live in and surrounding communities so we can all live a little happier and at ease. …show more content…
Living in America, we have the opportunity to choose our leader.
As the people, we get the choice to vote for the person we want to see as our Commander and Chief and for those who represent us in the Senate and House of Representatives. This opportunity supports our democracy and the freedom we fought so hard for all those years ago. As we vote for the people we want representing us, we should be informed about who or what we are voting for. Before we step into the ballot box, we should have an idea of how we want to vote and how we want the country to be ran. Once a person turns 18, or close to turning 18, he or she should go register themselves so they can participate in the democracy we pride ourselves
on. Our society is run by law and order, which requires respect. We should respect the legislative bills that are passed by those we voted into office. Executive decisions should be respected, whether the decision is agreed upon completely or not. Respecting judicial rulings is important. These three correlate, but the most important factor within them is us and how we react to them. The goal for these three branches is for the benefit of the American people, they are doing their job based around the American public and what we decide we want to do, laws we want to obey, or funds we want our taxes to go towards. Paying taxes, casting votes, and obeying laws are just a few responsibilities we have as an American citizen. Although many people do not believe American Exceptionalism is real or should be real, it very much can be. We have the possibility to make this country great, if we just look at the future and how we decide we want to see it. When you think of the place your children and grandchildren will grow up in, do you see a great country?
