The foreshadowed description of hypothermia could result to death, or it could be the frozen sensitivity from the thick downpour , leading to a fallen victim who would be quickly casted into a paralyzed state. The sensible hypothermia kicking into his system, immobilizing his body from each and every movement. The limbs, weak and limp from the continuous strikes of the cushioned snow hitting his arms before falling into the vast amounts of grapeul beneath his feet; blankets of it burying his extremities. These symptoms can perhaps lead to a fatal occurrence which will conclude the ending as a death metaphor or it can be symptoms which would not be serious enough for the death of him.
While Jonas was on the brink of his downfall, he was able to hear the faint singing in the near distance, either near a village which would have people who have escaped to Elsewhere, or maybe the sense of back in his previous community that they have gain emotions and memories. The serenade of people’s voices detected is an indication of reality and its advancement from a former restricted community to an advanced neighbourhood; Jonas’ plan seceded.
