Volunteering at Ronald Mc. Donald House of Charities gave me the opportunity to change the lives of little kids and their families while they are going through such a difficult period of their lives as having that special someone sick and being far from home. There, I was able to offer them a moment to have fun and escape from the sad realities of their everyday life, a moment where they felt happy and able to once again be just kids. But, overall I think that I showed them that there is always hope and if you give it your all in every battle of your lives one can come out being successful and having their dreams become true.

My work at RMHC has gone far away of the idea of just offering my service there, it has become something much more important to me, something that has changed the way I look the world but most importantly something that I have become passionate about. Every time I go there I find myself with a smile on my face, every time someone decide to go and help, donate or even pass by to say hello I feel that happiness inside, because I know that for those little kids a simple hello can change their day. It has allowed me to work with my team in order to make sure families there had a good time and felt appreciated. Being able to put all of our ideas into actions was incredible; and when paired alongside my IDH course, I was able to apply the concepts we learned in the classroom about communication and creativity to my service-learning experience. We, as leaders of the different activities that were provided, were able to communicate our ideas effectively and overall provide families with meaningful games that not only were enjoyable but also significant.
