What Is An Example Of A Personal Narrative
Personal Narrative It was the summer of 2016 when an unplanned event occurred. Instead of my mom, my dad, Hunter and I spending our last few weeks of summer on the lake, visiting friends and family, or even getting ready for school we were in and out of the veterinary office.
As we entered the air conditioned vet clinic we were all very nervous. “Hello,” the lady at the front desk said.
The vet came rushing out. ”They are here for Tex,” she said upsettingly. We followed her back. Tex, our normally energetic five year old yellow lab, had been in the clinic for three days now. My mom and dad had gotten a call at two in the morning because his blood counts had dropped tremendously. They woke my sister and I up around six that same morning

Parvovirus is a lethal disease that has a high mortality rate. Salem had developed diarrhea, vomiting, and lethargy. Salem would throw up liquids and not eat. Salem is such a fighter with her disease. She would try so hard to drink even though it would come back up. She was so sleepy all of the time. It had only been a week and things went downhill real fast. I tried to get her help but I don’t have puppy insurance. No one would help her and all I could do is cry. I had to find help quick but I couldn’t and I had class. So I left her on her soft white pillow and blanket to rest and get better. I kissed her lifeless zombie like body before I left to my one class. Class was so slow just anxiously waiting to get out and stay with my dog and at least be there when she passed. I picked up my girlfriend and we went home to Salem. Salem died on the pillow she laid on when she arrived. She was stiff as a bone and so cold. Her legs stretched and eyes wide open. She passed a bowel movement after passing and there was a stain of where she cried before dying. The sun rays shined on her body as if puppy heaven was right there to take her. Salem our beloved puppy of eight weeks had…

From the looks of her, we were not sure if she would make a full recovery or not looking at the condition she was in. You could easily tell right off the bat, the doctor was not completely sure about this dog yet from just looking at her. She was utterly amazed at how this dog, given her circumstances, would still be alive. Sitting in the waiting room with my mother, one minute felt as if it was five minutes, waiting for the doctor to come back. Finally, she had come back out and asked to speak to just my mother privately. My heart started racing. Every possible worst case scenario that could happen, ran through my mind. Maybe if I would have noticed her outside earlier than I did, she would be in a better condition. Maybe if I would have done something different, she would still be…

I push the door open. The bell tinkles, with a soft but shrill ring. A wave of rubber gloves and disinfectant masked with cheap air freshener washes over me. Chairs are cluttered in the waiting room of the dentists. Clusters of magazines lie on the scratched wood of the coffee tables, shiny bright plastic screaming out logos and slogans. A little way forward from where I stand is a desk. A smiling receptionist sits there. She seems to have been expecting me somehow, as she indicates to the couches and chairs.…

Ever since I can remember I have always been intrigued with the wildlife population of my five-acre backyard. Several vivid memories of me as a young girl bring me back to the days when I took in abandoned baby rodents and injured birds in hopes of nurturing them back to health. In my bedroom, I had set up a row of cardboard boxes with food, water, and blankets for each of my “patients” until they were ready to be “discharged”. Memories like these remind me everyday of my passion for veterinary medicine.…

A truck arrived in front of the house and animals were brought out from it. Most of them are cats, dogs, and birds. Some water creatures were being transferred onto the new big pond that was built last week. To say that I was not happy would be wrong. Although I did not understand the rationale behind this, at least seeing the smile in my grandmother’s face brought butterflies in my tummy. I was anxious, excited, to see how the zoo would turn out.…
