The founders of the Federalists began rapidly secured 5 of the 9 states. Four states would be ratified later were Virginia, New York, North Carolina, and Rhode Island. Also, the ratification process was not easy at all. The process Pennsylvania was almost corrupt. The Pennsylvania State Assembly was coming to an end and begun to have a special convention of the Constitution before the Congress forwarded the states. The Antifederalist in the state assembly tried to block the move by refusing to attend the ratification process, since without them, there were not enough to ratify. In the end, Antifederalist were dragged through the street of Philadelphia and seated in the Pennsylvania State House. Besides, the ratification in New York was not easy, either. The process in New York appeared to be controlled by the Antifederalist power under George Clinton that were opposed to the ratification of the Constitution. In the meantime, the Federalist, Alexander Hamilton display a masterful political skill to overcome a two-to-one by the Antifederalists, and the final vote was support the approval in the New York convention.
