I believe that one should personally wish to be intelligent, friendly, helpful, and creative all in their own ways. When I think about my future, I dream of being able to educate myself with the knowledge that is required to help people be as healthy as possible. Scholarship is such an important factor that I wish to have in my life since I do after all wish to be a biomedical engineer. Scholarship and service both play a major role in being a biomedical engineer without much effort due to the many factors they contribute to it. Using my mind to create things would be completely extraordinary in multiple ways just for the fact that I would know I was creating these hopefully amazing breakthroughs with just my mind. Also, the part of going into a medical field enables me to encourage and assist in the development of as many new types of technology possible. Just the thought of the lives I could save with my own inventions amazes me, and I cannot wait to actually attempt the many ideas that I already have in my mind. Service is such an amazing principle to hold within oneself, and I honestly hope that my future will strongly surround itself around that factor. Scholarship and medicine go and hand in hand due to the fact that being able to practice medicine is an incredible opportunity that requires plenty of effort and hard work put into my schoolwork. The practice of medicine is a vital profession for the health and survival of people around the world. The urge to aid people during their ill times factors largely into why I want to be a biomedical engineer, but I also want to be able to do the one action that I love which is to create

I can still vividly recall the eleven-year-old me fawning over the likes of Lawrence Krauss and Neil Degrasse Tyson. I was completely immersed in everything and anything pertaining to the vast universe beyond our seemingly insignificant world. I thought I had it all figured out. I would devote my life to being an astrophysicist and eventually earn my PhD. I would relish in the pink lettering on my wall that said “Dr. Mia”, but as I approach my late teens, my mind has been bombarded with what-ifs and buts. Irrespective of my change of heart, I still have an intense passion for math and science since it is how we explain the world around us, and that is why I have settled on biomedical engineering.…

Already coming from a family with a background in the health professions field, I pretty much had a view of what it would be like in the medical field. Going back to my senior year, I had alot of medical experiences that I enjoyed. It was challenging and overwhelming at the same time. I got to help people everyday.…

“Paging Dr. Baez to the ER”, it’s like music to my ears. I've always been attracted to the function of the human body. Science has been my strongest subject but Biology is by far my favorite. I knew right away that I would never be bored and just like that it came so easy to me. I have so much confidence that I can make a great general surgeon, in the sense of being good at following instructions and taking care of people, I'm a hands-on kind of person and having to clean up vomit from the floor when my sister has her famous asthma attacks has helped me get over being squeamish. What other career would be my kind if not surgery. Not only that but after my brothers incident, all i was able to think about was how much i wanted to help him and…
