Why I Want To Be A Mensch
I am your older sister and have learned a lot in the past few years of my life. I have realized the person I need to be to succeed in life and be a Mensch. I would like to share those things with you. You have so much potential for being the amazing person that I know you are, you just need a little push. I love you and hope you take my advice.

A Mensch is someone who is kind to others. They know how, to be honest with the truth, and respect others. No matter who or what is going on around them, they accepted everything. They have a certain confidence in them that allows them to step out of the box and go for what they believe in.

You will be given the chance to help someone. I want you to take that opportunity and do the kind thing.

Be honest and make the right decision. One day I was walking down Central Avenue and spotted a crumpled up bill. I leaned over to pick it up figuring it would be a single, no big deal. Unfolding it I found out that is was a one hundred dollar bill. I didn’t know what to do. I could certainly use the money, but it wasn’t really mine. But how to find the owner? I looked at the car nearby and went into the surrounding stores to look for the owner of that car. In the fifth store, there was a woman frantically looking through her bag. Guess what she was looking for. Honesty is the best …show more content…
You need to accept everyone, no matter what. I decided to join an organization that works with special needs children. Many people look down on children with special needs. You shouldn’t. You should involve them in everyday life.

We had a group project at school. No one in my group wanted to do anything. I decided to take charge and be the leader of my group. When the project was all done, my group was thankful for me and my actions. Sometimes you need to take charge to get things done.

By being kind, you can do a small act of kindness to make someone’s day but if you are too kind you might seem as if you are invading personal space.

By being honest, you will gain the trust of others but when you are too honest you might hurt someone’s feeling by being so blunt.

By being respectful to people, you can gain respect for yourself. When you are too respectful you will never learn how to stand up for yourself.

By being accepting, you can have the good feeling of making everyone belong but if you are too accepting you won't be able to filter out the bad people and you will see them as good.

By being confident, you are able to take charge and feel comfortable doing so but if you are too confident you won’t be able to give other people a

In Paul Ford’s, “How to Be Polite,” he discusses the lessons he has learned over the years on how to be an undeniably pleasant person. He gives examples from times throughout his life where kindness has come into play. Ford shares experiences from high school, where politeness went unnoticed and, for the most part, unrewarded. However, later in life kindness helped him in the workplace and in social scenes. He also mentions that politeness has helped him look at people in a vulnerable way, that each and every one of them has problems that are unknown to others.…

From past experiences I have learned the real meaning of respect. This word is more powerful than one can imagine. With respect comes unselfishness. When people respect others, they are treated equally. My mother and father always told me to be tactful in the way I treated others, so I would also be respected. It has worked in the past and will always hold true in the future. If someone respects another with proper judgment, people feel good inside which gives them a sense of integrity. When I give respect and witness how it makes others feel, I feel like more of a person. I feel proud. Honored.…

Respect. We would all love for people to treat us the same way that we treat them. Some people do not realize that what they say or what they do can really hurt someone, or possibly have a negative impact on them for the rest of their lives. I always say be cautious, and always stay wise to the actions you take, especially when it comes to someones feelings. You never know what someone could be going through in their life, so sometimes it is always better to be kinder to one another.…

I am a great leader and throughout my high school career I have taken every opportunity I could to display this. For three out of my four years I have participated as a Muskoka Woods Leader. This required me to spend a week at a summer camp at which I would lead a group of grade 7s through a series of fun activities. Being a leader at this camp wasn't always fun and games though. I had encountered many situations with the grade 7s in which I would have to improvise and apply my knowledge of leadership to sort out. For example, during one of our games we would play, there was a little boy who was sitting off on the side not participating. I went over to talk to the boy to find out what was wrong. When I found out that he didn't understand how to play the game I knew exactly how to fix it. I brought him over to a corner and me and him played our own little one on one version of the game. I taught him how to play and I played with him until he was finally ready to join the other grade 7s. As well as being a Muskoka Leader, in my grade 11 year, I was a Link Leader for my high school. This was different from being a Muskoka Leader because this time I was working with grade 9 students who were entering high school. Throughout the year I worked with the grade 9s giving them secret tips and tricks about how they could survive their freshman year of high…
