Why Is Animal Testing Cruel And Inhumane
Animal Testing
Did you know that over 100,000 animals die from animals testing? Well many animals are brutally abused and not treated well in most labs. Many people agree that We should stop animal testing.
My First reason is Animal testing is cruel and inhumane.Animals are used in experiments and are forced to eat, drink and inhale the toxins that they are given. According to animal-testing.procon.org The Draize Eye Test is used to take out the irritation caused by shampoos and other products. This involves rabbits being forced to keep their eyelids held open by clips, sometimes for multiple days, so they cannot blink away the products being tested. Most of the animal testing is to find out which dose of a chemical will kill 50% of the animals

Instead, signs of these diseases are artificially induced in animals in laboratories in an attempt to mimic the human disease. It is not surprising to find that treatments showing ‘promise’ in animals rarely work in humans. Not only are time, money and animals’ lives being wasted (with a huge amount of suffering), but effective treatments are being mistakenly discarded and harmful treatments are getting through.Aspirin is toxic to many animals, including cats, mice and rats and would not be on our pharmacy shelves if it had been tested according to current animal testing standards.
Many people say ¨We do them on the animals so that we won't have to do them on human beings and so that no harm will come to us it the test failed.¨
However many animals every day over 100 million animals are killed by animal testing and chimps are the most abused also, (stated in paragraph 2)We will have to at some point do testing on humans. Many other animals are abused and killed by testing such as, mice, fish, rats, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, farm animals, birds, cats, dogs, and mini pigs. Would you want to be those animals abused and locked in cages?Would you want to see all of those animals suffer? There

Overall, animal testing is erroneous because it does not contribute anything meaningfully to the world. When animals are tested often the results are irrelevant, due to the fact, animals have many differences from humans. Also, the animals endure poor conditions. Lastly, the animals’ lives are wasted by being tested on products that are not important. Testing animals is abusive and needs to…

Cruel, inhumane, and unnecessary. Those are just a few of the terms that come to mind when I think about animal testing. Animal testing has been a heated topic of debate for many years, throughout classrooms and medical facilities alike. In many cases, animal testing has proven to be a rather inaccurate method for testing human medications and cosmetics. For example, in the book, Animal Research Takes Lives: Humans and Animals Both Suffer by Betty Overell, the founder of the New Zealand Anti-Vivisection Society, claimed that in 1983, the painkiller Butazolidin (by t -z l -d n) caused nearly 600 human deaths in the United States alone. These deaths were not foreseen beforehand, as the test subjects were animals, not humans. Overell went on to explain that none of the many different species tested on experienced any adverse side-effects to the medication, yet it caused many complications when taken by humans (Overell 290). In addition to inaccuracy, animal testing is inhumane to the animals involved, both during testing and while they are awaiting testing, and lastly, is unnecessary due to the advancements in the field of medical research.…

The first reason why we shouldn’t have animal testing is because animals are getting hurt or abused. “Over 100 million animals are burned, crippled, poisoned, and abused in US labs every year.” The chemicals that the people are using are burning or other worse things to them. The chemicals that they use on the animals could hurt or kill them. Over half of side effects cannot be detected in…

As a result of this, nine out of every ten trial medicines that look safe and appear to be effective on animals, fail when they are given to humans. Because animals don’t react the same way as humans, not only do the failed tests delay medical progress, but also they are a waste of animal’s lives, and a waste of money that is spent into the research and tests. Animals have different anatomic, cellular, and metabolic structures than humans have. If a new product is passed just because it is safe on animals and isn’t on humans, that could be a very dangerous situation. One instance when this occurred was in 1950 when a sleeping pill worked on animals but when given to humans it caused 10,000 babies to be born with severe birth defects. Another time, a drug for arthritis was safe on mice but when administered to humans caused 27,000 heart attacks and sudden cardiac deaths. Animal testing can make researchers oversea potential cures and treatments. Some substances that are harmful to animals, are helpful to humans. For example, aspirin is dangerous to some animals. Arthur Allen says, “A source of human suffering may be the dozens of promising drugs that get shelved when they cause problems in animals that may not be relevant for humans.” (“Of Mice or Men: The Problems with Animal Testing”). Of all the medicines that pass animal trials and are ready for human…

There are a lot of bad things that happen in this world and Animal Testing is one of them. Doctors,Scientists and other people test on these animals everyday. In my opinion there should be no animal testing at all. It is cruel. Right now there are millions of animals sitting in cold cages waiting for their next painful procedure. The stress, sterility and boredom causes them to develop neurotic behaviors such as, biting themselves and running around in circles. Most of these animals are killed after the testing because there is no possible way for them to live after this has happened. More than 100 million animals suffer this torture. Exact numbers have not been found, in rats, mice, birds, and cold blooded animals take up about 90 percent.…

Research shows that 26 million animals have been used for testing of all different kinds. 26 million animals have been put through wringer for the sake of a human. 26 million animals have had no say, defense, or chance to save themselves. Animals are used as human experiments to see if a certain product can work or not. Animal testing is wrong on many different levels. If humans are not willing to use, test and experiment on themselves, why should one be allowed to test on an animal who has no say in what happens.…

Every year millions of animals are subjected to horrible unethical experimentations in order to advance medical science. Dogs, cats, monkeys, mice, and other animals are kept in dark rooms in cages while being exposed to various toxic and poisonous substances daily in order to test how the substance may react in humans. These poor creatures suffer from inhumane treatments and are denied any form of happiness, and these experiments should cease and alternatives should be used instead. Animal testing is a cruel and ineffective medical practice that produces unreliable results and those laboratories should use safer alternatives that will provide more accurate results.…

Animal testing has always been a dispute between people; some people think it’s morally wrong and some people think it helps with medical and scientific breakthroughs. Drugs that people use or cosmetics that are used could have been tested through animals before being stocked on shelves. About 800 animals are tested on before a drug is passed to clinical trials (“Is animal”). Many animals get tested on, but many like mice, rabbits, hamsters, monkeys, dogs, cats, pigs, and some other animals get tested on. Animals can be used to find new advances in medical treatment and check safety for products, but these animals that get tested on can go through pain and death. Animal testing is wrong and should be stopped because…

Every living system differs from each other. Predicting the reaction of one species by studying another species is not accurate at all. LaFoullette and Shanks depicted the truth that "even the most common drug given to humans does not have uniform effects in non-human animals". Although mice and rats look very similar, their reaction upon certain drugs can be totally distinctive. Roy Kupsinel, M.D. once announced that "animal experimentation produces a lot of misleading and confusing data which poses hazards to human health. For example, 4 million patients per year are hospitalised for side effects caused by thoroughly tested' drugs, and of those 50,000 die of the cures,' not the disease". According to Davis, "aspirin causes birth defects in rats and mice, poisons cats, but does not affect horses". A well-known example of the misleading animal testing which harms human health is the thalidomide disaster. The box accompanying the thalidomide stated that after substantial animal tests, this drug was confirmed to be safe. However, birth defects were eventually caused if pregnant women had…

Animals everyday are suffering in laboratories because of animal testing. Animal testing is a horrible thing, even though it has lead to some medical breakthroughs. Although there better alternative options. If you weigh the pros and cons to animal testing it is clear that animal testing is wrong, even if there have been outcomes that have turned out well. Even though animal testing can help create cures, they have shorter life cycles, and sometimes finding cures for them, vitro testing, animals suffering, and the animals being extremely different from humans are all reasons why animal testing is a horrible thing.…

Animal testing can cause and lead to death of the animals in the experiments. Animal testing leads to death in different way normally having the animal suffer. For example, according to ProCon.org 59% of animals tested actually survive though the whole surgery experiment. Meaning that it’s pointless to test animals when they don’t survive the whole test or die after. Which will prevent the animal tester to not be able to collect data after being tested. When animals die during a test that would mean they have to stop and claim the test failed not being able to release more information. Similarly, “ in the 1700s the people decided that if can’t talk or feel they can be tested on and killed”. This would mean that animals can be tested on because…
