Previously an idea conjured by science fiction novels and films, genetically designed children may soon become reality for expecting parents. Genetic engineering will allow parents to decide what their baby will look like from eye colour to their skin colour even if they will be intelligent or creative. Although some people may like the idea of being able to genetically engineering your baby it does have many down sides for example to have all the research done they have to use embryos and if the tests do not work the embryos will not be kept it will be disposed of. With this new genetic engineering and research parents will be able to prevent their babies being born with a physical or learning disability. It is obvious that if parents could they would prevent their baby being born with a disability, but this will have a negative effect on society as it would mean that everyone would nearly have the same genetics as no parent would want their child to be born with a disability. Although all the research has been studied a lot there is still a lot of complications and this means that if an embryo does not meet the criteria it will not be kept it will just be disposed off. Although Britain does not want to be seen as falling behind they should not introduce genetic engineering embryos as everyone should be their own person and even if they have a disability and parents realise life wont always be easy their disability makes them and helps them to be stronger and without obstacles in our life we will not
