Why Is Harmony Within Diversity Must Be Nurtured And Cherished?
"Harmony within diversity must be nurtured and cherished" is a statement which brings forth an empowering message. It is a beautiful message that instils tolerance and contentedness within an individual towards their brethren and sistren, for it does not condemn nor does it condone unity but merely states that one should cherish their individuality or nationalism, as they would their fellow countrymen, with their heads held high. It is also because of these importances that one should always nurture and cherish …show more content…
At a glance, when compared to the technological or economical giants of this world, Malaysia is but a microscopic fly. Even when compared in terms of culture, diversity or mentality, it still falls short. There is only one thing unique about Malaysia and that is, its citizens' attitude. Its bubbly inhabitants usually refer to their motherland, as a place where dreams are realised and where nightmares simply do not exist and akin to a mythical kingdom from a fairy tale. This alongside the national slogan "Malaysia Boleh"(Malaysia can do it), contributed towards the coining of the term "bolehland" which is literally the merging of the Malay word "boleh"(can) and the English word "land". The usage of this Malaysian slang indicates that the user perceives Malaysia as a land where anything and everything, can or will

In the best interest of society, people’s differences should be accepted since there is a lot of diversity. Thus, diversity can help society get a better understanding of others’ difference in values and opinions. This allows the community to become tolerant and understanding, which strengthens societies. However, society has to consider the safety of the people by putting a limit toward their acceptance of diversity. Without limits, people become deluded into thinking they can do whatever they want, which may include hurting others; however, being able to accept others differences will also help benefit the community’s growth.…

The information I learned about diversity may not fit into the intended point of the class. Thinking back as far as I can remember the way I related to others was and still is decided on the way the mutual consideration for respect for whatever the purpose for the need to relate. At a point in my life I would have had no problem saying ‘’I Steven Hodges am proud to have a divers mindset in regard to being open to everything, and everyone imaginable under the sun’’. It is unfortunate that the word diversity seems to have been tainted and used like a tool to cloud and impede the accomplishments made, or at least started by people like Martin Luther King JR. The information I have gathered about diversity in the US is that so many people are too worried about other people and how diverse they are; but they them self-need to ask themselves how divers they truly are. I feel that too many people have a sense of entitlement and these same people freely point out the differences of other people who may not share the same opinion as them. Yet if they are so divers why can they not accept that people are different and we all do not have to think and feel the way the next person does.…
