Why Is Racism Still Relevant Today
In our society many people try to eliminate racism but some still are racist. You might not think about racism everyday but it happens a lot around the world. Even though all genders and races should be treated the same they are not and it can lead to personal issues just because of people looking different from each other.

All women and men are created equal and the same. People in the world do not treat others fairly. We should get treated the same way not because you like white people or black people better. Color does not matter we are all made the same. People should work together and need to understand that racism is not just between black and white people it is the relationship between all races. People need to not make fun of people just because people have different gender and skin color. You can help people by being respectful and kind and treat people the way you want to be treated. People judge people on their race why? One reason people might be being racist is that they think it is right but it is not and just help each other out don't hurt people or bring them down. If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything. People may think something about someone's race but don't be the one person to say it to them. Some people are not treated fairly because of their race and that is not right because if you were getting made fun of because of your race you would be sad. Racism is terrible because when people are racist they are mean, this is no different than being a bully. Someone is mean to you and talks about your race just let it go. When you are racist you hurt a lot of people's feelings and even if they are not sensitive they are still going to be sad. One race is not better than another race. If you don't like one race at least don't be rude about it and if you are caught talking about it you need to

The media, expecially online like Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, ect., play a huge role in being racist. They have post, pictures, clips, videos, etc., about the apperences of these races. When someone sees something like this and it has a racist joke, they end up thinking that it's okay to be rasict, and tend to teach others about it too. People are rasict towards blacks becasue of there skin type, the way they talk, and because of the stereotype they see them as. People are rasict towards mexicans becasue they are also different colored, they talk a different language, and therefore, they don't like them and start making rude jokes about them. Racism comes in different forms of stereotypes, limitation, and assumptions that affect certain ethnic groups differently than others but all have the same negative effect. This then creates stereotypical power status, giving the illusion of how one racial group is superior compared to others. An example that shows great understanding of the issue is the article, “White Fragility: Why It’s So Hard to Talk to White People About Racism” by Dr. Robin DiAngelo who explains how the topic of racism plays a huge role is social interaction between people of different ethnic groups. The author states, “It became clear over time that white people have extremely low thresholds for enduring any discomfort associated with challenges to our racial worldviews.” (DiAngelo, 36) This displays the power of stereotypes to spread around communities about each ethnic group, resulting in them facing daily obstacles of how to handle racial profiling situations that results in people not being able to protect their racial feelings and human rights, challenge white authority, meritocracy which is addressing the issue of unequal right between racial groups, and white centrality. Overall, racism is just but one of the many factors that contribute to this broken state of…

It’s better late than never, is a saying people usually say when people take too long in doing something for them. They say it’s better for things to be done one day, than for things never to be done at all; but what if civilians are seeking justice and equality from the government. If civilians are being treated inhumanly and what they are asking for, justice, is put to the side as if they did not exist. Justice cannot wait for later because it will only spark up the fire to treat civilians unfairly and hurt the civilians who are pleading for justice.…

Even when everyone tries their best to be equal towards one another, people always end up being racist because of differences in ethnicities. This is shown all around the world in small and large countries especially the United States. The amount of diversity in the United States leads people to interact with others who might not necessarily be the same ethnicity as they are. This is portrayed in To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, A Raisin In the Sun by Lorraine Hansberry, and other contemporary issues going on in the United States that racism is mainly caused by people thinking that their ethnicity is better than another person’s.…

Racism is a serious issue that should stop. People are getting called names, beat up, bullied, and that just because of the difference in race. And the biggest problem is that it happens everywhere like: schools, at work, and even in hospitals. Racism is the belief that characteristics and abilities can be attributed to people simply on the basis of their race and that some racial groups are superior to others. Racism and discrimination have been used as powerful weapons encouraging fear or hatred of others in times of conflict and war, and even during economic downturns.…

The issue of racism has been a social problem in America for many years. Racism has been around for a long time, but it seems that it has become or is becoming a bigger issue in America. Race can be viewed differently depending on the people and the environment in which they live, which would result in a different view on how racism is shown and perceived. Race, and the way people view other people based on their race constantly changes, making it a social construct.…

Racism consists of both prejudice and discrimination based in social perceptions of biological differences between peoples. It often takes the form of social actions, practices or beliefs, or political systems that consider different races to be ranked as inherently superior or inferior to each other, based on presumed shared inheritable traits, abilities, or qualities. It may also hold that members of different races should be treated differently.[1][2][3]…
