Have you ever felt like you are too tired to go to school? and you just wanna stay in bed? What if school was later in the morning? Well due to recent studies sleep does affect how we learn in a big way more than over 46% of the world's students population is not getting enough sleep therefore bad grades. In my opinion school should start around 10 Am so students can get a good healthy amount of sleep so when they do go to school they are not sleep deprived and can actually learn, Firstly there are health issues to sleep deprivation, Secondly Bad marks, and lastly a counter argument , I know I come to school sleep deprived and it's hard to learn and that puts a lot of stress on a student's grades.

with going to school too early because if you are sleep deprived and this goes on for a while this can cause Memory loss, But in a recent study At northwestern university says that listening to music during class wakes up your brain and that might be why most teenagers listen to music before school. But is not as good as having a good night's sleep and can damage the brain so this may not be the solution yet. Homework is a big thing in students being sleep deprived when you have to stay up till around 12 to do homework then have to wake up a 6 to catch Ur bus to school that's not a lot of time to sleep that's only 6 hours of sleep and will affect the way the students learn for the whole day.
Secondly, bad marks Are common but why is that? A recent study in The university of Toronto says that about 1 of 6 students will not keep up and fail. The reason for this is how in high schools they do not prepare students for lectures and sleep deprivation. even though you shouldn't be sleep deprived in college some students are due to staying out late and partying this is what some students do with their free time therefore they may fail their class. But in elementary school I know personally this happens to me, sometimes i'm sleep deprived in class and it's hard to learn and you don't understand what's going on therefore you are confused at what the class is learning and sometimes if you are badly sleep deprived you don't remember.
Thirdly, Some counter arguments for this is that some people have after school sports, activities etc but do you want kids to get good grades and do great things and not do sports, or activities etc, or have poor grades and do sports, or activities etc. Also people say that this will reset growing teens wake up schedule and that won't be good but the cdc has proven that it will not and what schools start at now could change teens wake up schedule but it hasn't so that counter argument is not valid. The only valid counter argument is that some students work better in the morning but most do work better in the late morning.
Finally, In conclusion schools need to start later to help our healthy bodies grow, to help keep our marks up because it's hard to learns when we are tired in the morning, and the counter argument of parents who think school should stay earlier in the morning. Overall In my opinion school should start later in the morning and that's my opinion some people might think differently but this is my opinion and my
essay.
