Why Should We Stay Loyal To Great Britain
There are countless reasons in which we should stay loyal to Great Britain and its king, for we are nothing without their forces. We are protected by one of the greatest countries in the world; that is why we are not all killed. Are you truly willing to risk one of the most gruesome, inhumane punishments that have been established for treason? Do you in reality think our alleged ‘freedom’ is worth it ? And if we do defeat the British, for what cause? They protect us from those who want to kill us. The French, the Indians, they all are upset we stole their land, and the only object stopping them from waging war against us immediately is Britain. In brief, these are the reasons for why we should stay loyal to Britain.

Patrick Henry’s argument on declaring independence on Great Britain and going to war was an inspiring speech that has shined a new light on the subject of whether to declare independence or stay loyal to a country that has done us more harm than good and has ultimately led me to become a rebel. I have become a rebel for two main reasons, our petitions that they have not noticed were an attempt at peace and the mistreatment from the last ten years. To start, petitions had not been productive whatsoever. When Britain had done something that had made us miserable, we decided to meet in the middle and make peace with Britain though petitions. Unfortunately Britain had ignored and disregarded us and our petitions, and instead, had sent us harm and…

The reason the British tightened its control over the colonies is because after years of governing themselves they became used to it and were ignoring parliament's laws because they have started governing themselves. The parliament saw an opportunity to help pay of national debts using the colonies and created 6 main Acts from 1763-1773 they were called Proclamation of 1763 which banned settlement into western lands, next there was the Sugar Act of 1764 which put tried to put a stop on smuggling goods and gave british naval officers writs of assistance to search ships. The law also made it so goods like tobacco, sugar, and timber from the colonies get directly shipped to Britain. It also put taxes on cloth, sugar, coffee, and wine coming into…

The first reason I think that we should change our relationship with Britain is because of taxation without representation. U.S. colonists are getting taxed on tea, paper, glass, lead, and tea without any representatives in Parliament. Parliament made lots of people poor because of taxes on everyday items, which, in turn, caused the colonists to…

The British have murdered us, burned us, and stolen from us. They have imposed unjust laws on us, closed our harbor, and banned our assemblies. All of these laws put us at a disadvantage and benefit Great Britain. Why should we remain loyal to someone who treats us like this? We should not be governed by the British. The colonies are more than capable of protecting and governing themselves. We must fight for our independence, so we can elect our own leaders and write our own…

Why did we break away from Great Britain? We wanted our independents, so don’t you think by controlling the Philippines, Guam, and Puerto Rico we are acting like ”Great Britain”? Going into these country’s and trying to force your government ideas, putting your army in foreign land, and controlling there economics sound un-American to me. The government should consider what is at stake if we enter these foreign territories. If we try to imply our ways government ideas what would happen? That brings me to my first point; a self-governing country (the US) should not be able to submit our ideas or beliefs without consent of the countries. A self-governing state cannot accept sovereignty over the unwilling people. Like what Abraham Lincoln said…

If we go to war, it will be a short war in which we will die, and a dead man can not fight for his so called “freedom”. You would rather die than live this life which we are our own nation, then you hold the wrong beliefs.…
