Why The Central High School Should Not Have To Wear Dress Code
Central high school should not have to wear uniform dress code because of these factors 1. The cost of having two wardrobes 2. the lack of individuality it gives the students and 3. the continue of bullying which is what most schools say is why they had dress code in the first place. Most students feel as if dress code is taking away the their freedoms and finding yet another way to to control their students. How do you feel about this statement? Central High School’s dress code is khaki or navy blue pants with a polo or button down shirt it can have plaid or one solid color.with closed toe shoes. We also can’t have non natural colored hair tints. Central high school also offers spirit day every Friday when you can wear central bears shirt and/or sweatpants. Another time when students get a little more freedom is during homecoming week where students council gives students a theme to dress as (Ex: harry potter …show more content…
7 out of 10 students say that the uniforms kill their creativity, makes them feel overly controlled and ultimately depressed. Mother of 5 Tanesia benson says that she has not been in favor of the current dress code her childrens school were adopting.She felt as though it was expensive and made her kids feel like they had little to no say so in their educational environment. Many schools think that they are helping students by enforcing uniform policy. Most students feel like this is a source of punishment, 40% of schools in the U.S. are changing their appearance and getting their students to wear uniforms. Historically, private schools requiring uniforms began in the 16th century in England. starting in 2009 in the United States, there were 21 states with public school systems requiring their students to wear uniforms.
