Cheistmas Is My Favorite Holiday Essay Example
Christmas has always been a favorite holiday of the year. As a child it was the one time of year that I could get a glimpse of Santa Clause leaving me presents. I enjoyed waking up early in morning to be able to open my gifts. Christmas is also a wonderful time of the year because you can have so many decorations all over the house. Best thing about this holiday is you can spend Christmas Eve and Christmas day watching movies with your loved ones. This holiday mean so much for me because it brings family and friends together.

On Christmas Eve, I remember wanting to go to sleep early, just so I can get up and open my one (allowed) present. Sometimes I did not get the gift I wanted, so I smiled knowing I was in charge of keeping the fire going the night before.
I proudly heeded the challenge of catching Santa Clause eating cookies but he was really fast for a jolly man.

A month before Christmas, my mom would hang our stockings on the mantle, so the stockings would always have soot on them from the fires at night.
My dad would take all of us kids down to the corner to buy the fattest tree there.
When we got the tree home, we would decorate the tree with those one string of lights that had the blue bulbs burnt out. I always loved driving up to our house at night and watching the colors flicker from all the yard decorations.

The one time of year my family gets together and all of a sudden we have tons of alcohol in the house. We makes drinks and watch a whole bunch of Christmas movies all day and night. That is until someone breaks something, then it is time for bed. My favorite Christmas movies are Bad Santa and The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Christmas will always be my favorite holiday of the year. I grew up in a house where we took holidays seriously, especially when it came to presents. Santa Claus was in our house until I was 13 years old. I miss decorating the house with my family.
I love the fact that every holiday all of us can come

The English did not speak Dutch, so rather than call St. Nicholas Sinter Klaas; they began to call him Santa Claus. In 1822, Clement C. Moore wrote a poem for his children about a Christmas visit from St. Nicholas. In this poem, he talked about a jolly old elf that came down the chimney and filled the children’s stockings. Many of Mr. Moore’s friends asked for copies of his poem and in 1823, one of these friends published the poem anonymously in the Troy, New York Sentinel.…

Some parents make bite into the cookies that they leave out to make it believable that Santa actually did come. John Quinn says, “ Corneal says there’s so little magic in our everyday lives, and soon enough our little ones will be all grown-up, paying their bills, gassing up their cars, and going to work every day. So for now, Santa is a very real and special part of the holidays in her home.” (para. 9) Children should be able to have a fun childhood before the real world steps in.…

As I slowly awaken from a deep sleep, cool air hits my squinting eyes and I have the feeling that this is not a normal day. I close my eyes again and ponder for less than a spilt second then realize that SANTA CAME LAST NIGHT!!! I throw back the covers, ignoring the cold that would have kept me in bed for hours later on a normal day, and run to the Christmas tree. Without any lights on I quietly examine everything placed under the tree. I notice that Santa had eaten my cookies and drank all my milk. This made me feel as if I had accomplished something more important than world peace; I had fed Santa. All my unwrapped gifts that had appeared only overnight had a special aura surrounding them. Something magical. With a perpetual smile I sit and enjoy the look of the tree and all my new things. I pick up the new stuffed horse first, because horses are my favorite, and rub its soft synthetic brown fur. After I going through all of the good stuff, ignoring the sets of clothes and underwear, I traipse back to Mama and Daddy's room to assure them that Santa had come that night and brought me everything that I wanted.…

My favorite holiday for giving gifts is Valentine's day. The reason this is my favorite holiday is because it gives me a chance to show my family what they mean to me. The hearts on Valentine's Day, symbolizes love. I give a lot of heart of chocolate out to my family and friends because I tell them "With this heart, I love you." I show them by giving them gifts on this holiday and telling them how much they mean to me. It is worth seeing the joy and appreciation that they feel for me because it is seldom that expression, in my family, is shown.…
