Software Engineering is the application of a systematic, disciplined, quantifiable approach to the design, development, operation, and maintenance of software, and the study of these approaches; that is, the application of engineering to software. What is Software ?
Computer software, or just software, is any set of machine-readable instructions (most often in the form of a computer program) that directs a computer's processor to perform specific operations. The term is used to contrast with computer hardware, the physical objects (processor and related devices) that carry out the instructions. Hardware and software require each other; neither has any value without the other.
Software is a general term. It can refer to all computer instructions in general or to any specific set of computer instructions. It is inclusive of both machine instructions (the binary code that the processor understands) and source code(more human-understandable instructions that must be rendered into machine code by compilers or interpreters before being executed).
Types of Software:
System software
System software is computer software designed to operate the computer hardware, to provide basic functionality, and to provide a platform for running application software. System software includes device drivers, operating systems, servers, utilities, and window systems.
Programming software
Programming software include tools in the form of programs or applications that software developers use to create, debug, maintain, or otherwise support other programs and applications. The term usually refers to relatively simple programs such as compilers, debuggers,interpreters, linkers, and text editors, that can be combined together to accomplish a task, much as one might use multiple hand tools to fix a physical object. Programming tools are intended to assist a programmer in writing computer programs, and they may be combined in an integrated development environment (IDE) to more easily manage all of these functions. E-Learning
E-learning refers to the use of electronic media and information and communication technologies (ICT) in education. E-learning is broadly inclusive of all forms of educational technology in learning and teaching. E-learning includes numerous types of media that deliver text, audio, images, animation, and streaming video, and includes technology applications and processes such as audio or video tape, satellite TV, CD-ROM, and computer-based learning, as well as local intranet/extranet and web-based learning. Information and communication systems, whether free-standing or based on either local networks or the Internet in networked learning, underly many e-learning processes. E-learning can occur in or out of the classroom. It can learning and flexible learning, but it can also be used in conjunction with face-to-face teaching, in which case the be self-paced, asynchronous learning or may be instructor-led, synchronous learning. E-learning is suited to distance term blended learning is commonly used.
Statement of Problem
General problem How will the proponents develop and design an E-Learning System in Mathematics for pre-schoolers of CJ Montessori as additional learning tool that enables them to learn and enjoy the subject.
Specific problem How will the proponents create a page that user friendly and easy to understand by the pre- school student. - The pre-schoolers of CJ Montessori need to focus in their lessons to fully understand the presentation used by the teacher such as visual aids, charts anf etc. How will the proponents create a user level module that will provide security level from unauthorized person. - Without a security unauthorized person can enter the system and can cause of great risk like lost of files.
How will the proponents connect the proposed system to the internet so that ither can also see this system. - Without internet connection the users won’t be able to use the proposed system. Working offline is not recommended because the proposed system is develop to work online environment.
How will the proponents create a page that will give a random exercises and any other task. - The teacher give a exercises to the pupil to practice the knowledge that they learn. Teacher uses the traditional dictating the questions and the pupil answer it in a piece of paper
General Objectives To be able to develop and design an E-Learning System in Mathematics for pre-schoolers of CJ Montessori as additional learning tool that enables them to learn and enjoy the subject.
Specific Objectices
To be able to create a page that user friendly and easy to understand by the pre-school students. - We create the proposed system that have beautiful graphics design and easy to use all you need is to read the instructions that help the user to easily know what will do.
To be able to create a user level module that will provide security level from unauthorized person. - For security we have an log in form have username and password . the authorized person need to fill up all the need to enter the system and use it.
To be able to connect the proposed system to the internet so that ither can also see this system. - For online matters we create this system as website so that other can use it but to enter she/he must fill up the registration form.
To be able to create a page that will give a random exercises and any other task. - we create a page for an exercise time to practice of their knowledge it is design colorful and enjoying, we create this by adding objects that pupil can understand it.
Scope and Limitation
Our proposed system is develop for pre-school students in their mathematics subject. We create it to help the school to have an other tool for teaching and at the same time students will enjoy the subject because of its grapics. We have use two software to develop it the Adobe PhotoShop and the Dreamweaver.
Adobe PhotoShop is a graphics editing program developed and published by Adobe Systems. We choose to use this software to design our system because ot easy to use because all you need is in the tool bar.
Dreamweaver is a proprietary web development application developed by Adobe Systems. Dreamweaver was originally developed by Macromedia in 1997 and was maintained by them until Macromedia was acquired by Adobe Systems in 2005. We use this kind of software for coding our system to create all we need like buttons etc.
Our proposed system is develop only for the pre-school students of CJ Montessori but it can access by others through online. This system is only for mathematics subject. It can Add and subtract other operation is not available to this proposed system.
This proposed system cannot upload or download pictures , sounds , ang etc. This Sytem is for exercise matters.
