Improving Organization Retention A healthy and productive work environment is important for any organization. Problems will occur; how the problems are solved will influence an employee’s rate of satisfaction or content in his or her current workplace. At JC’s Casino, these problems seem not to be solved to the overall satisfaction if at all. The workplace is experiencing friction and high stress levels that need to be alleviated quickly. If the problems are not solved in a timely manner, the employees dissatisfaction will escalate, which will create more problems for the organization, such as shortage of staff, bad reputation, and loss in revenue.
Work Motivation Theories Employees may be motivated to work in a positive tone if the organization sets that tone. Several work motivation theories exist to supplement these methods.
Theory of Work Adjustment The Theory of Work Adjustment (TWA) describes the various relations between each employee and his or her respective work environment. The TWA uses different instruments, research monographs, and other materials to enhance positive development in the workplace. The TWA states that work is conceptualized between the work environment and the employee. Because the work environment has requirements for specific skills, the employees shall be allowed to bring their skills and abilities forward for use in the work environment. In return, the employees shall be compensated with a salary and other benefits that have been agreed upon. In order for this to occur, the work environment must be safe and comfortable (Vocational Psychology Research, n.d.). Both parties should agree upon the requirement for what is an acceptable correspondence. The correspondence can be amended to meet ongoing changes in the work environment as necessary.
