The main idea of the following research is to identify importance of human resource management and the importance of the employee motivation. Also the research will discuss about the different reason of labour turnover in hospitality industry, consequence of high labour turnover and how to overcome the problem, reducing the labour turnover and retention of the employee.
INTRODUCTION According Keiser (1998) Traveller look for an attractive destination (Tourism) where they require room and board (Hospitality) during their stay. Hospitality includes the organisations that cater the tourist or guest for travel, accommodation, food, amusement etc. The industry can provide service to the local customers or who have travelled long distance.
Hospitality is one of the biggest industries in the world in terms of economy and the employment. Even in recent years all the business industries are suffering because of the recession but still hospitality industry in growing up and it’s not affecting very much. According to the hospitality industry it is blood related with tourism industry. As they both service industry and the main ideas of the industries are providing better service to satisfy the customers and the both industry depend on each other very much. Recent years because of the low fare air tickets between the European countries and the development of the information technology, tourism and hospitality is growing faster. As an example we can use the London west end where majority of the hotel are occupied by foreign tourist and majority of the fast food and restaurants customers are foreign tourist.
OVERVIEW OF UK HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY
In Britain hospitality industry is still holding the 5th position by employing more than 2.4m people, also contributing over £34bn in UK gross income as tax (BHA, 2011). Also according to the British Hospitality Association, in next 3 years mean by 2015 it’s expecting to create extra 236,000 jobs across Britain.
