Riding a Roller Coaster to Loving Somebody Essay Example
Riding a roller coaster has its ups and downs. In comparison, loving someone has some of the same characteristics. In relationships, no one is going to be perfect. For example, if a man cheats on his wife, that is like going up a steep hill on a roller coaster. Many people never know if their relationship is going to make it over the top. Going down hill on a roller coaster is an example of a relationship that is going well. Going down hill on a roller coaster can also be unexpected. This could be very much like an unexpected pregnancy within a relationship. In many relationships, people are going to go through, what they call, a roller coaster ride. If a spouse cheats on his or her significant other it can cause several problems in trying to have a stable relationship. To have a stable relationship a couple must trust each other and confine in each other. It is like going up a hill on a roller coaster. Many people never know if they will make it to the top. Tick, tick, tick then down hill people go; just like a bad relationship. Sometimes when people think the relationship is in the clear it is not, because the husband or wife will never be able trust the spouse again, or it will take a while. Sometimes it takes work to stay in a relationship and trust must be earned. As stated, when things are going well in a relationship it is like going downhill on a roller coaster. If a husband has a good job to pay the bills and he takes the wife out to eat once a week, everything is going great. If a husband just bought a nice little house on Maple Street, the wife may be thinking nothing can go wrong and is very happy in her marriage. The relationship could be about to hit some curves. Now, the unexpected gift arrives. The wife walks into the bedroom and says to the husband, “I’m pregnant.” This is where the relationship is coming up on the curves. The husband does not make enough money to support a child. The wife decides to get a job until the baby comes. The

Depending on the situation I would. For example, Elizabeth was pregnant and if I were Elizabeth, I would because I would want my child to have a father in their life. Now, I wouldn’t trust him but I would want us to be family. When it comes down it, it’s hard letting go of someone that you love but sometimes the best option for you is to just move on. If I didn’t have a situation like Elizabeth had, I would not have given a cheater another chance. Why? I would not have because then you would constantly be wondering if they will do it again and what anything else they say is true. You would have all of these unanswered questions in the back of your head. Not only that, but I believe that you can’t have a relationship without…

Trust is an important thing, but it must also be understood that trust being broken is not always one’s fault. There are occasions where life takes unexpected turns that change everything. Friar Lawrence played a rather large role in the love of Romeo and Juliet. The thing that some call ‘fate’ left Romeo dead because information had not reached him. Friar was left to say, “A greater power than we can contradict Hath thwarted our intents” (Shakespeare Scene V Act 3). So there are times when promises and friendships can be broken because of events that are neither persons fault, so sometimes one must resort to mercy and understanding for broken trust. Romeo and Juliet shows this as well as it could possibly be…

A relationship is meant for two people only, but some can’t seem to count. In today’s society, there are more people being unfaithful to their mate everyday as if they were never committed to them, and that is just selfish. Cheating does not only affect someone emotionally, but also physically. The pain after a breakup from cheating can make a person have a negative outlook about being in a committed relationship, and this can also stop them from being happy with someone who can not only be a good candidate for them, but also faithful and loyal to them. When I felt like cheating, I would always talk with my dad. He always said, “If you are unhappy, leave that person completely alone, done cheat on them”. (B. Robinson) He was…

Trustworthiness is an asset that is difficult to come by in the world we live in today. Ever since I was brought up as a little girl, I have been taught to be honest in all my dealings. Cheating is against the standards I set for myself, because I try to respect those that I know and am close with. To me, when somebody does something dishonest, I see that as disrespect. The last thing I would want to do is offend somebody by disrespecting them.…

The Ballad of the Sad Café, by Carson McCullers (1951) suggests that there are two types of people in the world: the "lover" and the "beloved". The "lover" is a pathetic character so enamored by the "beloved" that it changes his/her attitude or personality completely. The feeling is so powerful that even though it causes the "lover" excruciating pain, he/she continues to love. The two main characters fall under this mysterious spell and it changes their lives forever. McCullers also seems to propose that the feelings of love and attraction are not necessarily reasonable or comprehensible to others, and if left unrequited it can cause the "lover" to revert back to his/her true self.…
