My siblings and I are nervous because we have never been on a boat or been in the ocean. We have no idea what to expect. It’s not too cold or hot outside so that is good. As we are boarding the ship, I almost lose my sister, Kayla, because there is so many people. We have to go to the bottom of the ship because that is where third class goes, which is also where most of the people go. It’s very crowded at the steerage, it’s hard to even move. It’s also very difficult to have three small children in a crowded boat, but it will be worth it in the end. It’s gonna be a long trip, two weeks to be exact, to the United States and they don’t give us a lot of food. As time passes, everybody is getting cranky. It’s hot because of all the people. Everyone is hungry, and people are tired. There hasn't been any storms, it has been sunny the whole time. I can see the Statue of Liberty in the distance, which means we are getting closer. I get teary-eyed as I watch the ship get closer to the Statue of Liberty, it means I am closer to freedom and seeing my parents. As the ship goes to the Statue of Liberty, everyone starts cheering, some people crying and some smiling ear to
