Animal Testing Should Be Illegal
Dogs are a mans best friend, right? We are suppose to be loyal and kind to our friends, why are we treating animals the way we do? Well, it’s illegal to give people new medicines that have not been tested yet, but it’s not illegal to test them on animals! How many times has it ran through their heads that animals feel pain, to make innocent animals like dogs, cats, mice, birds and many more suffer for no reason other than to conduct cruel experiments on them. Animal testing is only another version of animal cruelty which is very illegal! People might think that animal testing is fine because it is only for research and an educational purpose, which is true because people do need to figure things out and learn things others may not get to.

Scientists believe this is a reasonable way to see if new medicines are safe to go into the public or not.
However, I do not believe that animal testing should NOT even be a thing. We have enough medicine in the world so why do we keep making more unneeded pain-relievers, cold and cough pills, don’t we have enough? People need to stop thinking about money and how popular their brand is and start thinking about how many animal lives are lost due to that. An estimate of 26 million animals are used every year in the United States alone for scientific and commercial testing. Proclaimers say that there is no alternative for animal testing but at Procon.org people say different, “ In vitro testing, such as studying cell cultures in a petri dish, can produce more relevant results than animal testing because human cells can be
used.”
Although animal testing is abusive it is also effective with human studies and life saving experiments. The top reason for animal testing is for new medicines, vaccines, and other treatments. People are supposed to be our number one priority in this system of living, but, we still need to think of the animals out there who help us live like we do.
We need to think about ourselves more than we do others. Right now, people are so caught up in the future about all the new diseases and how to treat them when they don’t even exist! Why don’t we just think about what’s going on in the world now! All the people with diseases, all the endangered animals, all of the earthquakes and tornadoes and floods! Why can’t we do something about them now, or is it more important to create a robot-maid for lazy rich people. We can’t wait around until this world is already dead! We need to help the environment! We need to keep all the animals safe! We need to help our furry and feathered friends out, they are doing us a favor by living, and helping this world live. Now let’s do a favor for them and keep them alive, in a healthy, green habitat.
Why can’t we all just get along peacefully and help these poor animals live free. Why can’t we just return the favor back to them. Why don’t we? Because we are too scared to stand up, because we are more afraid of making ourselves look bad infront of others and being looked down on or feeling ashamed. We need to stop thinking that way, would you rather be a bystander and let people throw away millions of perfectly good lives just to figure out a useless vitamin? YES I do understand that we need to keep our bodies healthy and in order to do so we need to take vitamins, antibiotics and many more! But it is our duty to make sure no animal, to the smallest roach, to the largest dog or cat, is harmed in the study of human health.
