However, an occupation does not describe everything about me or the path I have taken to get me to where I am today. I wish to teach for a few years in different schools in the New York City Educational System. I also wish to compare the different types of Bilingual Education Programs in New York City and decide the type of program I want to be a part of. I believe that I can make a difference in the New York City Educational System by contributing to the instruction of newly arrivals. In two semesters, I will begin student teaching. I am overcome with emotions to start this new phase in my life because everything that I have is due to never giving up. I was doing a project on Winston Churchill in my 10th grade social studies class when I came across one of his most famous quotes, “When you are going through hell, keep on going. Never, never, never, give up.” Since the age of sixteen, I have always worked. I am grateful to have started working at a young age because it has taught me several valuable lessons. I learned how to manage my time and how to be responsible. Having to work at a young age also allowed for me to be able to balance a job and still do well in school. Not to mention the experience that I gained as a tutor, mentor and counselor. As a junior at CCNY, I am enrolled as a full-time student and work as a customer service representative for an airport service
