1.- Scott Bedbury, ex gerente de marca de Nike, cree que el psicólogo humanista del siglo veinte Abraham Maslow ofrece el modelo más relevante para los consumidores más matizados de hoy. El dice que el comportamiento y el emplazamiento de marca de hoy deben reflejar un entendimiento de los asuntos psicológicos más profundos que Maslow puso en el vértice de su pirámide de necesidades. Relacione el modelo de Maslow con la marca Nike y su estrategia de comunicación.

La teoría de la pirámide de Maslow explica distintas etapas y jerarquías de necesidades que posee una persona, las cuales representan distintos niveles, desde el suelo de la pirámide, donde se encuentran las necesidades más básicas, hasta la punta de la pirámide, la cual representa la autorrealización y necesidades mas puntuales y complejas del humano. Haciendo un paralelo entre NIKE y esta teoría piramidal, podemos darnos cuenta claramente que la estrategia de comunicación de NIKE apunta a las necesidades mas altas, sobre todo de Reconocimiento y de Autorrealización. Si partimos de lo básico, el slogan, “Just do it” nos dice claramente, solo hazlo, una frase completamente apuntada a la autorrealización, tu puedes correr, párate y corre, como nos decía el caso, son frases que motivan al consumidor, tocándole el “nervio” de las necesidades de autorrealización y de reconocimiento a la persona, logrando un vinculo de entendimiento hacia el consumidor, diciéndoles que nosotros te ayudamos a que tu te superes, te realices, seas reconocido, exitoso. Ese es uno de los puntos de la estrategia de NIKE que pueden verse explicados con la teoría de Maslow, pero eso es solo el slogan. NIKE, usa rostros de deportistas exitosos como publicidad, les proporciona implementos deportivos y cada logro de ellos, es un logro de NIKE. Mientras mas gente los vea y se identifique con estos deportistas de elite en distintas disciplinas, mas se incentiva al consumidor común y corriente a verse reflejado

    Nike sponsors many high-profile athletes and sports teams around the world. “Just Do It “and “Swoosh” is Nike trademarks logo. Just Do it 25th Anniversary Nike commercial is for all people. In the article “Daily Mail” by Bianca London, applies “the campaign invites users to virtually compete against world’s top athletes (London).” The commercial is directed to all ages, and diversities. From watching the commercial I was able to detect who the audience was directed to, which was all athletes. The commercial uses the Nike moto “Just Do It” to motivate and inspire people not to be afraid and follow their dreams. Following your dreams and making anything possible by believing in yourself. They use multiply scenarios in the Nike commercial ad with examples that no challenge is a hard challenge. In the YouTube ad one of the examples was a person who liked to fight. He was using his fighting skill to bully another person in the commercial.     Abraham Maslow (1908-1970) was a humanistic psychologist who (1954) developed a hierarchy of complex human needs (1954) that an individual must satisfy in a process called self-fulfilment- satisfaction of all needs results in self-actualisation. The hierarchy was divided into seven tiers and when each set of needs were satisfied, the individual would move up another level to fulfil more needs. Physiological needs like food and water are essential for survival. If those most basic needs are being neglected, the individual will instinctively focus everything on meeting those needs first. Once satisfied, safety needs like warmth and shelter also become important. After the safety needs have been met, social needs including love and a sense of belonging become important. When those have been satisfied, esteem needs must be satisfied. Cognitive needs must be satisfied before aesthetic needs including beauty and symmetry can be satisfied.
