Some people think that it is more important to notice Meip and Anne’s similarities than their differences. “Meanwhile the oppression of the Jews continued unabated. They now had to be in their homes from eight at night until six in the morning...Nothing worse could happen to a Dutch person than the loss of his bicycle(91-93).” Anne was a Jew and Miep was a Jew. They had to live such a different life. Anne lost almost everything that she had and Miep didn’t have to give up anything. On page 881, Anne says, “I’m going to be a famous dancer or singer… or something wonderful.” Even though Anne is hiding from people that are going to kill her and the rest of the people living with her are frightened, she still thinks that she will get out of the Annex and have a wonderful job and a great life.
In my opinion, it is much more important to understand Miep and Anne’s differences than their similarities. When you understand Miep and Anne’s differences, you can understand how they thught differently and how they acted
