Contradictions Of The Bible And People Against Homosexuality
When it comes to the bible and people against homosexuality I feel there are a lot of contradictions. There are so many because so may people say they follow the bible and say the bible does not believe in homosexuality and there going to believe what the bible says, but so many people say that and do not follow the bible down to a tee. They say being gay is wrong, but what about having sex before marriage. There are so many people who are not following all the bible rules so I feel they should not preach something's in the bible if there not following every rule. Also the bible was not written by god. So we do not officially know what god expects from us. The bible was written by man and we know males are the biggest homophobic genders

Should Christians Accept Homosexuality? “ In Romans 1:26-27, God is seen to have given men and women “up” to disgraceful passions. This act was in reprisal for idolatry and failure to recognize God as who He is. So we have god as the causal connection to acts, which they condemn! This does not make sense. Why would god cause men and women to engage in acts that were not of their nature as a punishment for ignoring his goodness?” (Simpson, Bruce J.)…

We will first be starting with the historical view which has much to do with what the bible teaches on homosexuality. When we look back at ancient Greece where homosexuality was really not that big of a deal, older men would have relationships with adolescent males’ right at the time when they grew their first beards (online text pg. 28). Then we can go to Rome where there were men that were very feminine and walked around certain parts of town looking for men to bed. In Florence which was a very Christian city had many sodomites (this is a Jewish and Christian word that signifies the connection between sodomy and the city of Sodom in the Bible which supposedly God destroyed (Genesis 19). I remember watching a movie called “Caligula”. This movie depicted how free the Romans were with sexual favors and bedding with those of same sex was an all-time occurrence especially male with male (online textpg.287). Sodomy was such a natural thing but it bothered the governors at the time so they created a group called “The Office of the Night in 1437 to enable its citizens to be able to accuse others anonymously of sodomy (Human Sexuality pg. 287). Once the Roman Empire ceased to exist, throughout Western Europe Christianity spread and its beliefs were made part of secular laws.…

However, for believing in the facts “homosexual are a sin” it’s against human rights, because people have the right to be who they are and what are we to judge them that it are is a sin to God. Every religious have differences belief and so as similarity of belief. For example, all religions believe that if we do good things we will go to heaven when we died and the opposite is hell. In the other hand, the defined of “do good things” from each religious are somewhat different. For the most common known book in religious is the Bible, who we assumed been written and past down by Jesus Christ. It’s did stated that homosexuals are wrong, but it’s also stated judging other people without knowing them are also wrong. However, as a human being we love to complicate…

Paul Vernell who I mentioned earlier, thinks that homosexuality in no way shape or form is immoral is perfectly fine. He says “Homosexuality is not immoral nor unnatural, we as humans do not chose our mate on outward appearance or even sex, we chose based on who the person is.” He also points out that he is not a Christian so he does not believe that pretty much anything the bible says is true so it does not bother him that God points out homosexuality as a sin. Paul Vernell is very serious about defending homosexuality but he also points out that he is…

Christian counselors are positioned to encourage and develop a sexually healthy church. Rooting our understanding in a biblical worldview affirms that sexuality and sex were conceived in the mind of God. Sex and sexuality are a precious gift from our Creator. Because they are wed to our creation, sex is an expression of our sexuality and involves our body, soul, and spirit. Although sexual behavior incorporates many meanings, values, morals, and cultural perspectives, a biblical worldview shapes our understanding of how to view and approach sexual topics.…

My opinion on gays is that it is not right to be with the same sex as you. That isn’t how God made us. God made us to be with the opposite sex and to populate the world. When people think about bombs and stuff like that we think of Muslims. People think wrongly about Muslims, but they shouldn’t. They do wrong but everyone sins, we all fall short sometimes. As far as the women go, some assume that women are week and they cannot do what men can do. That isn’t true there are plenty of strong women in the word. Look at the army today; there are tons of women fighting for our country risking their lives. With saying all that are we as different as we really think we…

Many churches preached against gay rights, saying things like, “Homosexuals are sinners, god didn’t want this, and my favorite, god made Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve.” “Leviticus 20:13 - If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood [shall be] upon them.” (Bible). When people read things like this in the bible it’s basically telling them it’s okay to discriminate against others, such as homosexuals. It is so wrong that the bible consists of sch horrible, degrading passages, saying if a man is in sexual relations with another man they should be put to death. The bible also states, “Leviticus 18:22 - Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it [is] abomination.” Don’t get me wrong I see no problem believing in god, but I don’t believe people should take the bible as serious as they do. The bible doesn’t only talk about discrimination against homosexuality, it also talks about how women must listen to their husbands, and different foods you shouldn’t eat because if you don’t obey the bible you are going to hell. Leviticus 19:27 reads, “You shall not round off the side-growth of your heads nor harm the edges of your beard.” That’s basically saying you can’t cut your hair or you’re going to hell, which is complete stupidity. The bible also states, “You are to keep my statutes. You shall not breed together two kinds of your cattle; you shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed, nor wear a garment upon you of two kinds of material mixed together.” The bible just has ridiculous “laws” that you must abide by like not mixing two fabrics, therefore saying you can’t wear polyester. I think it’s foolish that many people know the bible has irrational passages written in it, but insist on saying, “According to the bible homosexuality is…

I'm Molly, I'm 14, I'm from New York City, I have two parents, a mom and a dad, I probably watch too much TV, I have two cats, and I'm gay. When I was reading all of the facts about me, you probably didn't even think about my sexual orientation until I said it. And I'm still just like you. Almost everyone here has just found out I'm a lesbian, and it may be a shock to some of my close friends. You may think I'm bold and fearless, standing up here, completely vulnerable. But to be honest, I'm pretty scared. The reason I am telling you all of this is because I want to be heard.…

From as long as one can date back, there has always been a history discrimination towards others among the general populace. First and foremost, there have been numerous accounts of judgement upon homosexuality making claims stating that it is an immoral choice, a mental disorder, or religiously unjust to be homosexual. These accusations stem as the cause of why members of the LBGT organization are shunned to society and constantly victimized, simply based off of the lack of knowledge towards the true origins of homosexuality. For example, in previous years, homosexuality was documented in the American Psychiatric Association’s, the APA’s, official list of mental disorders. The idea of homosexuality having to do with mental stability is supported…

Everybody has their own beliefs on homosexuality. Some believe it is a sin, and some believe love is love; whether that is with the opposite or same sex. Homosexuality is something that in this point is time is accepted way more than it was a couple years back. Of course we still have some people who discriminate homosexuals in many ways. Some are against it due to religion, or the way they were brought up, I feel everyone is entitled to their opinion but they should keep an open mind. Like I said, the world is changing and you don’t have to accept it but you should learn to live with it without discriminating or putting them down.…

I do not believe in the bible and I am allowed to marry in any church or place with open arms in the name of God. Everyone takes this argument to the bible, how many mothers kick their children out for being gay is growing everyday. 1 Timothy 5:8 Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. From what I have read online and from the parents words and what they have written they are christian. They are worse than an unbeliever, worse than me, And I believe that anybody can love no matter what race, religion, how old you are you can still love. What if being gay was normal and being straight was a sin? You would be sinning everyday and you know what you would feel. Bad you would wanna kill yourself, you wouldn't wanna be yourself anymore because everyone hates you. Or you would live through it and be the happiest person on the planet and nobody could stop you. The bible was written by a bunch of guys. People can not be made from clay, someone can not be made of dust. I went to church and I sang for people, I never paid attention to the pastor because well I did not believe in the bible. He spoke about how anyone who loved the same gender as themselves would be burned in hell for all eternity. I got up right in the middle of his speech and left that room. My uncle was sent to prison for flirting with a man in a bar, My other uncle had to get a divorce with his husband and their children were taken away because people would riot outside there house and they put the kids lives at danger. What's so wrong with gay marriage anyhow? Are they touching you, bothering you, are they trying to turn you? No so leave them alone. In human nature I do believe that we all want to outrank each other and be better. Christians…

The Bible is the uniting fundamental of all the denominations, and encapsulates the core values and beliefs of Christianity, providing illustrations to answer questions about ethics. The Bible contains the key ethics and morals of Christianity however; they are out-dated by centuries resulting in a lack of information regarding ethical questions relevant to today’s society. Though some views on topics relating to bioethics differ between various denominations, there are several concepts that remain universal to Christianity. These concepts are the predominant teachings of Jesus – that it is paramount that love and respect for all beings is present. By applying the foundational teachings along with extra guidance from the scripture, debates…

In Adam Foulds’ short story, The Rules Are the Rules, Peter’s closet homosexuality is the most obvious instance of a character being in the closet. His character steamrolls his way through the story, showing the challenges of being a closeted Catholic priest. Throughout the story, we see Peter struggling internally with his secret and his relationship with God. However, what if Peter’s case was not the only expression of closeted homosexuality in the story? If a closer look is taken, one could find many instances of the characters struggling with their sexuality and being in the closet throughout the short story.…

The entire population is made up of a variety of different races, religions, colors, and beliefs. The gay population has also become more popular in the world today, the population that is looked down upon by the rest of society. In the texts: Second Inaugural Address by Abraham Lincoln, “What to the Slave Is the Fourth of July” by Frederick Douglass, and Declaration of Sentiments by Elizabeth Cady Stanton it talks about equal rights for everyone no matter the difference of color, belief, or person you are. Even though being gay is not supported because it is stated in the bible, gays still deserve the same rights as any other person and deserve proper treatment from the rest of society, as well as protection from the law.…
