TOPIC : THE FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE EMPLOYEE'S JOB SATISFACTION IN HOTEL INDUSTRY

CHAPTER 1: INTRODUCTION

1.0 INTRODUCTION

This research is focusing on examine the factors that influence employee satisfaction in hotel industry. Employee satisfaction is one of the vital elements for a hotel to be success in future, it would help to gain the competitive advantages among competitors. The purpose of chapter one is to investigate the various factors that can affect employee satisfaction in hotel industry. Those factors that we will examine are such as working environment, organizational leadership, employee training, through communication and also employees’ benefit.

In this chapter, research background shows the impact and importance of those factors that will influence employee satisfaction in hotel industry. On the other hand, problem statements will describe about the negative effects of those factors and problems that will influence employee satisfaction. The research objectives that are included general objectives and specific objective are identified and discussed. Lastly, research question and hypothesis of the study have prepared in this chapter and these will gave us a clear guideline to precede our research to chapter two.

1.1 RESEARCH BACKGROUND

Employee satisfaction is referring to an employee those feel happy and satisfies with their current job or working environment. Nowadays, most of the organization especially hospitality industry, are concerning and understand about their employees’ behavior and attitude. As employee is an important asset and property in a hotel to operate their daily operation. Moreover, the employee performance plays a crucial role in project the customer's perception of service quality to the particular hotel.
